Just seen Wonder Studio is available for all. $19pm for 150 secs - $99 for 500 secs ..... 15% saving for annual

Was wondering if any1 has used it and got the mocap into IC8. Cant find any online Ive only ever used Plask, Mixamo + Reallusion Mocap. Excited because the detail is great and you can use fight scenes from your fav movies ;)

Hi. This is an example Imade one month ago

Thanks for the information @armondtanz ! Glad it's now available to everyone. :w00t:

I'm also curious to know the process to import the motion capture into iClone. Can you explain the procedure you did @charly Rama? I mean, did you just import external motion into iClone or maybe there is an incompatibility with the cc3+ skeleton? Thank you :D

I've done a tutorial for this on month ago but only beta testers were interested on this I think. Here it is, I used 3dxchange, the process is simple

Hey, Thanks , i guess this is the only way. Have had poor results using method in past. But the 'maya' rig reminds me of importing mixamo which always came in ok.

No, I think RL will make a profile for WD, it's so simple now to import directly to iclone using the profile. I'm trying to make this profil but I don't know why upper body movements are ok but the lower is weird, Still searching...

Ah damn. The perils of 3d and switching softwares. Always feels like a constant battle.
They have a designated blender plugin but thats on 99 USD a month??? Way too expensive.
Hope sum1 finds a workaround soon.

With Blender You can pay the one time $40 dollar price for Autorig Pro
(with free updates for life)
and you can import wonder studio motion data easily.

Thank you for the tutorial but I'm stuck at the T-Pose level, the author of the video has not shared his t-pose profile so that I can load it in 3DXChange 7
By armondtanz - 3 Years Ago
Have u followed vid exact... When you make your video for wonder studio at the beginning just do a quick t pose stance, then use that to make your own.
Its explained at beginning of tutorial

It happens because the order of the Root bones is wrong. Remove the root bone and it will work normally

I used the motion converted by CC4 as it is.

Hi guys, for the PERFECT T pose, this is the very easy method to get it

I didn't share my T pose because it was very imperfect

But for now, use motion correction as it like shown in this video is  time consumer and hard. I get a almost perfect motion without any foot sliding using my method and just apply the motion correction at the end. I get a real real good  animation in 5 mn
By armondtanz - 3 Years Ago
Can you post your results, im having a nightmare with foot sliding. Going through the floor when i walk forward. Or up in the air.  Be good to see your workflow. Thanks Charly
By charly Rama - 3 Years Ago
Okay, I made this yesterday just to show you, the workflow is exactly as I see at my first video. That you see here is obviousely not the final result. Many things to modify. Facial animation isn't done yet...

Hello everyone.
I would need some help with Wonder Dynamics conversion for CC4. I've tried everything that's mentionned, retargeting skeleton, etc. The animation file is either corrupted or looks awful when converted. I don't understand why, when imported into Blender, the animation works just fine.
Any help would be awesome...
I'm joining here the blender file I'm using as a test:

Thank you everyone in advance ! If you succeed in converting or retargeting I would love to know how you proceed and what did I do wrong.

Kind regards,

Kalex

I do not have WS and that Blend file is bit messy. First, the action is going on "underground" and second, the Rest Pose (although is a T-pose) is twisted by X -90 degrees.
But all that could be easily worked out if you use blend files as a source.

First, you have to extract a T-pose.
Select character armature, switch to Rest Position and export as BVH specifying frames 0 to 0
(if all .blend files come like that, then you may use this T-pose file for all consecutive conversions)
https://forum.reallusion.com/uploads/images/680dc3cd-4122-47ab-a13e-8955.jpg
Next, export animation.
Switch to Pose Position and again export BVH 0 to 99 (range is selected automatically)

In CC choose to Convert External Motion, select exported from Blender animation and a T-pose.

Motion would come rotated because of that Pose/Rest inconsistency in blend file. But it's easy to fix in iClone.

Apply motion to any character in iClone.
Using character Transform rotate it by X -90. It would now appear underground but straight as in Blender
Next right mouse click on a clip and use Root Motion > Sample Hip to Root (XYZ) (if it's not available use Split first) to bring the root to the feet where it belongs.
Then switch camera to Orthogonal view and use "G" for top view. Again use Transform and align the character to the center by XY
Switch to side view by an "S" and align character by Z until root is at 0 center. Then you may go to Edit Motion Layer and use Pelvic bone to align feet with the ground.
Use collect clip, save the motion, remove the motion from character, reset its position to the center and reapply the saved motion.

Your newly saved motion should start correctly from the center and be on the ground.
There are some minor motion tweaks would be necessary to correct the pose when character hits the ground at the end.

Damn thank you so much for your answer !
I will try that right away.
Thank you for your help and guidance that's much appreciated. Always something new to learn in 3D =)

I use it all the time. I created a motion profile, so I drag in the fbx and select my custom profile. If you want, I can share the file so you can use it too.
