How can i to use a terrain maked with Earthsculptor in Iclone4?

When i export the terrain object with earthscuptor, this is saved with .obj extensión and when i want to import to Iclone4, Iclone can not load it invalid data.

When your Earthsculptor is not from RL, you need xchange to convert ?
The Earthsculptor from RL don't need xchange, then it has a plugin already.

Sorry for my bad english:D but I have good knowledge in Earthsculptor so I think I can help you :)

Why the terrain has as a gird in Iclone?
By vidi - 15 Years Ago
It looks für me as , it is the Earthsculptor standard checker Texture, but in a very low resolution.

Have you the free Version ? When yes, the texture export is very low.

Here is a is my tutorial and Exemple . Sorry It is in german, but you can see how Earthsculpter work. I hope it help you :)

Hey Guys!

You're great!       The terrain has a grid which is the collision mesh.   The collition mesh allows you to walk or run a car over any terrain and the characters will follow the terrain change!

I think 3dXchange 4 is a MUST for all wanting to transfer things from other programs into iClone.

OK?

By the way...   If you have Photoshop CS 3 or 4 you don't need Sculptor to make terrains!

Photoshop has the way t make a mesh from a gray scale image.   So you paint the terrain with a smooth brush and the terrain is made!

It does export in OBJ format so you must anyway have...3DX4!

I'm currently using the free version of EarthSculptor with 3DXchange. I needed a bumpy road (with real differences in elevation) as well as elevated sidewalks. I started out with a height map and it worked out well. I'm poor so I use Paint Shop Pro (can't afford Adobe products...), but it does the job. Once done modelling in EarthSculptor, you can use 3DXchange or iClone to replace any low resolution textures with better ones.

Hm... I don't think so.

Someone told me in another post that you can export stuff from Bryce 7... even the free Bryce can do it. I've yet to try it so this is coming from just what I heard.

Hi,

I have Bryce 7 and it has a great poly reduction and texture output choice when you export a terrain or trees. Also it exports to loads of formats .x works best for me.

Just select the terrain and go to the file menu and select export object then you get a mini realtime 3d object with slider control of how much polys you want. (there are 2 types of poly design ie adaptive etc)

I use it for realtime terrain in DXstudio but I'm sure it would work for Iclone easily.

PS the free version exports terrains as well.

Cheers

Graeme

This is who posted.

I'm skeptical because this guy popped out of nowhere... sounds like he's BS'ing just to get people to DL bryce... well I'll bite and give it a shot.

I take back what I said about the new poster. He is indeed correct. Get the PLE version and try it out. I've only tried this on terrain, but I THINK it'll work for all objects... it can export FBX too... wonder if it can bring out bones (if bonce were brought in) and I also wonder do some other exports work. This could be VERY useful.

The thing I don't like about Bryce is that the textures seem a bit poor.

Bumping this thread back to the top.

Having the same issue, with the Export -> iClone Model missing from the EarthSculptor 1.1 (Registered) version which I purchased through Reallusion.

I sent a "hello" email to Ernest inquiring about support and his response indicated that all support is to be done through Reallusion.  I have also submitted a support ticket in the hopes that a solution to the deficiency exists.

I'm know I can export the .OBJ via 3DXchange,  but I'd like to see the functionality made available.

Cheers,

The support folks at Reallusion were kind enough to provide me with the EarthSculptor iClone Plug-in.
