Daz3d Genesis 9 Character to full cc3+ model?

Up to this point; I am able to import Genesis 9 characters into CC4. I resculpt the eyes as they are always a blank white (an user on the daz forums helped me get this far - https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/7976481#Comment_7976481).

The model looks like it is ready to go but it is only a humanoid model now and seems to not be compatible with a good swath of cc4's features. Is there a way to fully convert my gen9 model to a full CC3+ model?

Procedure for exporting Daz gen9 character - Import to CC4 response from a very helpful Daz3d member.

"It is certainly possible. Before exporting your Gen 9 figure from Studio, make sure you right click on the Gen 9 figure in the Scene tab and select "All" which makes sure all your bones, clothes, hair goes over into the exported fbx.

Importing the figure into CC4, don't use Transformer, (although I guess there will be an update to correct this in future), instead import your figure as a Human-Non Standard. Close the Characterization tab. Next, open the AccuRIG tab, select Create Guides and click OK. When that finishes, select Generate Skeleton from the AccuRIG menu and let CC4 do its thing. When that finishes, select Bind Skin and let that finish.

Then you can click on Check Animation and select a Motion, to make sure everything is working fine.

The figure still has the scary white eyes, so come out of AccuRIG and go to Edit Mesh in the CC4 menu. Select Sculpt, then click on the eyeball symbol next to Brush Type. Adjust the Radius of the red circle to be the same size as the eye and click on the eyeballs. You will get the pupils back - WOO HOO!

Then click carefully on any white areas still visible around the eyes, including the surrounding whites and also the "tear" area, adjusting the radius as needed. This is a bit fiddly, but worth spending a bit of time getting this right. You can go out of Edit Mesh mode to check what it looks like, go back in to have another tweak if you need - it might take a few goes to get everything covered.

After that, you should be good to go. "

Thanks for sharing your workflow. This will help  others looking to get Genesis 9 into CC4.

For the white eye issues, you can also correct this on the Material tab of the Modify Panel. Just select EyeMoisture_Right, EyeMoisture_Left and Tear and reduce the Opacity level for each one.

You can already import any Daz clothing, including Genesis 9 clothing, using Create > Accessory from the Menu Bar. Once imported the clothing will be usable with any of your standard characters in CC4.

UPDATE: After checking, support for Genesis 9 characters should be available in the CC 4.3 update which is due this month. Not long to wait now.

Thanks for the update Peter.  Looking forward to testing it out.

Yeah, did a quick test of importing a Genesis 9 character.  It came through the transformer without any issues and applying test animations and expressions worked really well.  I was able to replace the teeth with CC4 base character teeth (looks like the Daz version still comes through really white like previous Genesis models)  However, when trying to change the eyes to CC4 eyes, this happenedhttps://forum.reallusion.com/uploads/images/ca6d5f96-efc8-4d83-b996-cf89.jpg

Under the Modify Panel > Morphs tab > Head > Eye just use the Eyeball Scale and Eyeball Depth sliders to correct the size problem.

Which transfer tools do you mean? Support for Genesis 9 is already available in CC 4.3 using Transformer. You don't need any other tools.

The instructions in the manual are out of date for conversions.
Character Creator 4 Online Manual - Basic Conversion (reallusion.com)

I found the DAZ resource folder in C:\Program Files\Reallusion\Character Creator 4\Program\Assets\ExternalFiles\DazResource
Not in C:\Users\Public\Documents\Reallusion\Template\Character Creator 3 Template\DazResource\T_Pose
I did not find any A-pose or T-pose files for Genesis 9. Should we use the default pose?

Thanks for clarifying. I will check the situation regarding the SkinGen Daz Tools and update again when I know more.

Thanks for pointing out the outdated information in the online manual. We will try to get this corrected as soon as possible.

With regards to the Genesis 9 A-Pose, for now you can use the default pose which should work fine. If a dedicated A-Pose is found to be required for Transformer then we add them in a future update.

Has there been a facial profile for Genesis 9 made for the Daz Resource? If so, where can I find the updated folder?

Hi... Genesis 9 facial profiles and A-Poses are coming in a future update. Unfortunately I don't have a timeframe for when this will be yet.

I would like to know that as well. I can't make any facial profile for Genesis 9 character in CC 4. Can you help me to do anything with face? Thank you in advance

Is there an updated Genesis 9 Male and Female DUF file for facial animation?  Or is it just the Gen 8 that we should use? Looks like Genesis 9 is now supported in CC4. Just wondering about the DUF. Just let us know. Thanks!

I've been working with the import process above.

I tried a fat man G9. Then I tried a lion head G9. In both cases, they came in as a default G9, with no shape. But they had no visemes, no speech ability.

So, I tried bringing in a G9 OBJ. No shape loss at all. I used Accurig on it and made a Humanoid. So far so good.

Unfortunately it has no speech ability. I have this with trying to bring other characters in as well. My morphs never make it through the process. I know I'm doing something wrong. I'll bet someone here knows what it is. If you can tell me, I would be grateful.

You have to configure Morphs Export rules to Bake All on FBX export page.
