I was wondering if it was possible to take an image layer and slowly fade it out by changing the opacity setting BRIGHTNESS, so it goes from opaque to transparent?

I found the opacity setting which is animatable.

I noticed it works if I start with a black image for the opacity, I can animate the strength to have an object fade in or out, which is cool, I didn't know how to do that.
But if I start with a white image, it doesn't work the opposite way, not sure why.
Either way this could come in handy to fade things in and out.

Sometimes I stumble on to things that work. Though I'll probably forget. Good thing I save everything. Glad it helped someone.
