Dear iClone Users,
We have now released a new update to iClone (8.01) which fixes a lot of issues previously reported. However, we still need your help to track down remaining bugs or issues.
Important: If you do find any bugs, issues or glitches in iClone 8.01, please can you report them first in the Feedback Tracker. Then feel free to discuss the issues in this thread but do try to include a link back to the original Feedback Tracker report or your tracker number.
As always it will help us greatly if we can keep all technical issues in the one place (this thread). This will help the development team keep track of any problems.
Please do try to provide your full system specifications and a detailed description of the problem when reporting issues and include screenshots and/or a workflow video whenever possible. If you can provide specific steps so we can try and reproduce the problem that will be even better.

Hey Peter
Does the trial version update. I cant see the update in the reallusion hub. Its just im having an issue with a character disappearing when im trying to use the motion puppet tool and want to see if its fixed before i use the feedback tracker

Unfortunately for trial versions you may need to uninstall the current version and then reinstall again.

IC8.01 overrides motion on character replacement: - place any character on the project and assign a pose - replace it with another character from the gallery - the replaced character replaces the pose too. Did work well on IC7 and iC8.0

@Amper Sand: after some confusing on my part I could repeat your issue.
There is something strange in 8.01, because previously when you would drag and drop one character on another, unselected character, that character would be highlighted with the boundary box, but that doesn't work anymore.
I repeated the test with CC3+ characters (so not with the provided CC4 characters), and in that case the pose gets preserved.
I better get to eat something because now however I try, I can't repeat it! :crazy:

Hi Peter, I uninstalled and re-installed and this seems to have broken the trial (all say trial expired), i've opened a support ticket as its stopping some features from working.

Hello - I posted this elsewhere but thought it might be useful for your developers here as well (hopefully)
Regarding Motion Live - I am able to connect to LIVE FACE in the gear list - but unable to line the Live Face connection to the Facial record option in the character list. Clicking on the exclamation button does not yield any options - as it does in iClone 7 in order to start the mocap workflow.

This is a minor issue, and may have already been mentioned, but I don't see it in this thread (maybe elsewhere?) Anyway, it's this:
Reach Target has an option to "Create Dummy" (which I love, btw) but the issue is that the pretty box it creates is NOT a dummy. I have to manually "Set as dummy" in the Modify panel myself, otherwise it renders out if still visible.
I know, it's easy as heck to fix from a User's point of view, but I thought I'd mention it anyway.

I'm having a really difficult time importing .bvh or fbx motion files onto my character in iclone or cc4. I keep getting the "no compatible character found" message.
Also how do I export the character models as an fbx file so that I can use it in plask.AI. The only options are maya or blender, and these fbx files don't work for plask. I either want to move the character with the motion file and face file to hitfilm through plask or through iclone. I can't figure out either.

Hi...
The process to import characters and motions where you don't have a pre-set HIK Profile is to do the following.
1. In CC4 select Create > Create Character from the Menu Bar. 2. Choose the FBX file you wish to import. 3. Select "Creature" as the character type. 4. Once imported "Characterize" the character as shown in the video below.
5. Save the HIK Profile.
Now when you next load a character or motion of the same type, you can choose the HIK Profile you saved previously.

Please understand that the sentence is akward using a translator. The lastest version of IClone 8.01, Optiktrack 3.0.0 is in use. I tried to work with Motion Live., but skeleton is not following me properly. I've seen all the manuals, but they're all old versions, so it's not helpful. Please give me a quick answer.

In 8.02, Navigation bar's "Start" and "End" buttons no longer scroll the timeline to the cursor/scrubber, you have to manually drag the scrollbar to find the cursor/scrubber. The same issue (but not IC8.02 specific) for Timeline's "Next key" and "Previous Key" buttons.

Thought I'd share this, I was exporting out an Alembic to see how it would work in a UE5 environment, and I just so happened to look at the Alembic back in iClone.
(1) I exported a clothing animation from iC8 as Alembic (2) when imported back into iC8, Alembic did not then exactly match the character's shape, per-frame on the same animation. The character mesh now had poke through with the Alembic
So either the export out is an issue, or the import of the Alembic back in is an issue in iC8:

Same here, * I can start Faceware * In Iclone 8.02 I can select the character * Open Motion Live plugin in Iclone 8.02 * It shows Faceware Realtime in the Gear list and I can select it * In the character list it shows my character, but I can't select face In the right column it shows Character : The character name Data: None
I can switch the fields between mask - strength and smooth and select or deselect there Auto-Blink is automatically set to None and I can't change it anymore

Space Mouse Pro from 3D Connexion in CC4 work perfectly but not in Iclone 8. I have update to Iclone 8.2 and I have update the last driver to Space Mouse Pro, and it works perfectly in CC4 but not in Iclone 8 in any updated version, when I try to move the Space Mouse the screen start to move in all directions so quickly and I can´t stop it. Any solution for that?? Issue 8761
