Hello everyone,
Stereo 3D is the latest evolution in iClone and since I received the beta for testing and marketing materials, the creative bug has bitten me... hard. You'll soon know what I mean Smile iClone 4.2 lets you create stereoscopic 3D movies and images with full control over 3D camera viewing depth and exports as Anaglyph output (red/cyan glasses) and Side-by-Side stereo 3D for Polarized and Active Shutter glasses, like Nvidia's 3D Vision.

Of course, there are some techniques that you'll want to familiarize yourself with when making stereo 3D movies or images. The effect can be turned on with the check of a box in iClone, however you'll quickly see how objects closer and further from the camera lens will react to your Stereo 3D settings. A quick adjustment with the convergence slider-bar and you can adjust the focal distance of the stereo 3D effect with ease.

Here I'll share some new iClone projects and images I've created as Anaglyphs to show you some of the possibilities. You can use any old or new project to render Stereo 3D.

These are exiting times indeed!

I don't know for when the release of 4.2 is planned, but there is currently a contest from Sony together with 3DWorld magazine which asks for submission of 3D short movies. The deadline is July 9, 2010. More information here: http://sonycompetition.3dworldmag.com.

Will we be able to adjust the level and focus of the convergence on a per-frame basis, using the timeline?

Funny how things are.

A few months ago i wrote a post in this forum asking reallusion to watch the competiton (i was refering to Moviestorm, that already has a 3d option). At the time, most of the replys to my post were from people saying how useless that would be, etc. All that they could see was bad things about this option. You can check that in here:

Fortunely i finnaly found that there's people that want this too and i´m not crazy by wanting to have fun doing 3d stereoscopic movies. OH, and i can almost swear that many of those critisizing my proposol of a 3d rig inside iclone, will be making movies with it after the update... i will be watchingSmile

Good afternoon John. This is incredible content. I cant believe how fast all this is evolving. Is Reallusion going to supply online RB glasses also for sale??? I assume yes?

i think jleao they weren't criticizing the feature, i think (or at least i agreed with one) they were talking about priority. 3D is a nice to have not a must have feature

but now that is in almost here w00t!!!
