Hello, Is there a product or plug in that can be used to create a scene transition or wipe?  Wanting to create cute or fun transitions between scenes for a kids cartoon.   Something like a glass break that shatters the scene from one scene to the next.  Or a baseball that comes at you ending one scene and opening the next.  thanks for the help.

Quite a large number of video editing programs (NLEs) contain a selection of transitions and wipes that can do what you want. You first need to render your scenes out of whichever Reallusion you are using and apply the effects in the NLE.

And just to be clear... most folks render their iClone files and then edit them in editing software (NLE) I use Vegas or Adobe Premier. There are many others some free like Hitfilm Express I believe Those programs as, Gerry mentioned, have the option to use various "Wipes" or similar effect to transition between those render files you brought in from iClone.

Thanks for responding.  I do have lots of various transitions and fades in Vegas Pro but what I want to create are animated transitions like balloons rising up from one scene to the next.  Didn't know if IClone had a plug in or content that did that.

Thank you for your reply.  I render my IClone files and then edit scenes together in Vegas Pro 19.  Digital Juice carries a lot of animated Wipes as they call them.  I want to be able to create my own animated transitions.  I have plenty of the basic transitions from Vegas and also other plug ins.  Unfortunately the Digital Juice wipes do not work on Windiws 10.  They are only Apple based needing QuickTime. I'm using a PC.  Thanks again

A friend long ago showed me how to make custom wipes in Vegas but I have forgotten. You might find a tutorial on YouTube though...

Here is the weekly special in the content store. It is the 3D Video FX Motion Montage 3 for $5. This might help you.

Hey Debbie,Not sure if you have Cartoon Animator 4 but this may be what you’re looking for…https://www.reallusion.com/ContentStore/CTA/Pack/G3-Transition-Effects/default.htmlAllistair

To answer the question, no, there’s no plug-in that’s going to do that as the transition created would have to be specific to the NLE you were going to use it in although wipes can be more generic. Obviously you can create and animate the elements in iClone and then generate the transition in another app. It’s easy to do in DaVinci Resolve (Fusion) or Final Cut Pro (Motion), or even Premiere Pro (After Effects) but I haven’t used Vegas in over a decade so I don’t know if it has an associated app for building transitions and wipes?

I do have Cartoon Annimator 4.  How would I used that in an Iclone video, or can I use the transitions in Vegar Pro?
Do you happen to know if there is a training video for that?  Thanks for your help.

I am reminded of the IC6 default projects where RL created their own fades "in camera" using the color adjust settings in the effects panel. Not too fancy but it is in house. Check out the abandoned house project under 02 Scene in the default projects if you have it.

You could also use image layers (which accept video files) if you are intent on doing it in Iclone.

I don't know if this would work, but another crazy idea would be to render the video out in iClone and if there are several scenes put them together in an editor first.

Then, you would use the completed video as a background in CTA and do the wipes as you please.

any animated black and white movie file can be used as a transistion or wipe in iclone.
by simply using the image layer feature and applying it to the opacity materiel,
you can also add anything in the diffuse, for example another movie file or color picture.

it isnt recommended to do more than one scene in iclone though, but it's very possible
and i have done 5 scenes in one project with transitions between each. using the switch camera  as both a new scene and a marker
for animating the next scene
