Applying what I figured out from the last post to some renders of the main character of my novel.

I recently posted a thread where I had backed myself into a rendering corner with a certain character.  In the conversations that followed, I was given such useful feedback that I was itching to apply some of the things I learned from great people here to shots of the main character in my novel.  These shots are all produced native in CC with some post processing in GIMP.

This is Drea in her full dress uniform.  I am trying to go for a Dutch master style of lighting.  The novel is set in the very far future, but early on, I had fixed an overall look for her culture to be something high romantic and somewhat 19th century European.

So quick question:  I hate that I made a typo in the topic line.  Is there a way to correct it?

teachable moment -  your typo is realistic.   you are feeling vulnerable for it,  which is good for your art.  Art is not perfect,  that's what makes it unique and beautiful.
There's still hope for you after all!

kato just smirked.

Your renders are very nice and I think you have created a great feel for the period you are trying to recreate.
Also, don't worry about typos, we've all done them in our posts, well except for me, I nevver make typos.

Thanks for the "knid" words!  I'm supposed to be a writer... and like smart and stuff too....

More seriously though, I really do love it when I feel like I've made progress.  Sometimes, you (the general you) can't make progress (in any artistic endeavor) without feedback. I've gotten some good feedback here.

You may be good with a calculator,  but smart people use a spell checker.  Don't worry,  your secret is safe with us - you need a place where you don't have to worry about impressing anyone.

Calculator?  What's that?

More seriously I just want to get good enough that my art speaks for itself and does the impressing for me.  I still have to learn a lot more technique.
