in that video, towards the end when he starts applying lights... for some reason, i can only apply 1 light, and it removes any other in the scene. how does one add multiple lights to a scene? in the video he simply drags/drops the preset into the scene, when i do the same, the last light replaces all lights.

If you right-click and drag, the light gets added. He should have said so in the tutorial.
