I have character creator 3, latest version, same for Iclone7.
I used one of the dresses in character creator  "Dress D" and export it to Iclone 7
It works, but i seem to lose the physic tab in Iclone "sometimes"???
I know it's me, but I don't see anything that I'm doing different.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

If you are selecting the entire character in IC the physics tab will not show, but if you select just the dress in scene manager then the physics tab should show.

Hi, thanks for responding!

I DO select the dress and it shows 3 tabs but not physics.

It's weird because I can send the character from CC3 to IC7 new project and the tab is there, unless i replace the avatar in the scene. Then the physics tab disappears.

The dress is UNDER the Avatar along with other props attached as well as hair, teeth etc.

Just tried it again, works fine to NEW Project, physics tab there, but not so much if I replace the character in an animation. Is that the reason?

Thanks again!

On the top Tabs, there is a Window Tab, click it, and a dropdown menu will show up. There is a Modify panel. Make sure it is checked.
There are other windows too. Check all the ones you want to use. I thank God for helping me.https://forum.reallusion.com/uploads/images/91c10fe6-dcde-4578-b029-8354.png

Hi and thanks.

I clicked the modify window, it comes up. It has 3 tabs, instead of 4.: Attribute, Animation and Material. Physics for the dress is gone.
I am focused on the dress.
Probably I just don't understand the way CC3 works with I7.
Physics tab IS available  I export Rosebud to NEW project, she appears, dress has physics tab available. Yay!
I have already created an animation and path I want to use with Rosebud in it and it's a good start.
This is my character Rosebud, from my children's book.
When I export Rosebud to replace the I7 Rosebud, it works, animation is fine, but the physics tab for the dress, disappears. I hate to start all over.
I'm guessing I just don't understand the whole parenting/attaching thing as my CC3 scene looks different from my IC7 scene.
Here is a pic of the CC3 Scene and the I7 scene:  https://forum.reallusion.com/uploads/images/c3a2be82-344d-48e7-87a0-02eb.jpg
Seems like everything is parented under the avatar in I7, but not CC3. Is that the problem?
Thanks!

I have not been able to reproduce what you describe.  The only thing I can suggest is make sure the character you are replacing is selected and that you are selecting the entire avatar in cc3 before sending to IC.  Good luck.

Thanks!
I'll probably have to start over. I can get the character from CC3 to I7 with the dress WITH physics in a NEW project, just not the one I was working on.
sigh,

appreciated,

Maxx

You are highlighting the character and then going to modify panel, and then highlighting the dress within modify panel, while the character is still highlighted.
When you highlight the dress, that is when the physics tab shows not when you have character highlighted. You don't have to start new every time.
I did what you did and the physics tab does not show. If you want to modify the physics of the dress, click on the dress.https://forum.reallusion.com/uploads/images/7e8e7bd5-c4d7-4493-ab10-edf5.jpghttps://forum.reallusion.com/uploads/images/13128042-8d55-448c-a423-e044.jpg

I can get the character from CC3 to I7 with the dress WITH physics in a NEW project, just not the one I was working on.

Which could mean you have Bullet Engine enabled instead of Physix under the Project > Global Physics Settings.

Hi,

Thank you so much for responding. I was clicking the dress, it was the physics/bullet engine in project settings that was the problem.
But, I really appreciate the help. I feel like i'm swimming in quicksand, but the program continually amazes me with what it can do. It's just my ignorance pulling me under.

Thanks!

Thanks again for all your help. THAT was IT!
I changed from bullet to physics and exported from CC3 again, and the tab shows.
I feel like an idiot. (it's not the first time) I don't even know why I changed it to bullet. Doh!

Saved me a ton of work, starting over. Ultimately I may have to anyway just because I don't really know what I'm doing, but I'm learning  so much from here and the tutorials.

Thanks again!

p.s. Whoever invented the particle engine at Iclone deserves a raise.

Glad it worked out for you :)
