I'm adding some trees to my background and the Norway Spruce is fine.
But it's bright Green is killing my mood. ;)
I found the temp generated .png file, but I see no way to change the default or get it to recognize a different .png file.
Am I barking up the wrong tree? Nyuk nyuk.

Unfortunately tree colors cannot been changed. This has been a long-standing wish but no response from RL so far on that.
