I'm not sure if this is the correct place to ask this, but it appears that iClone is the problem not the plugin!!! I have just obtained the Xbox one kinect camera and bought the full plugin. That is working and shows my skeleton calibrating etc. BUT when I have a character in iClone (active) and the Device Console running and try to connect it tells me "Load Mocap plug-in failed" when I can see it running right next to iClone!!!! Where have I gone wrong. I have looked through the forums and can't find a specific answer. I know it is not connected but I have recently got an iPhone for the face recognition and that works perfectly.

I have removed all Kinect software and drivers, done a registry clean, turned off my computer for a minute, reloaded the software with the camera usb disconnected. Still no joy!!!!

I don't own the plugin but I remember when I was considering buying it and doing some research that there is a thread somewhere in the forum about the plugin no longer working - I think because of updates to Windows - and covered what you had to do to get it working again. If you haven't already seen that thread, it could be worth searching for it to see if it helps.

In my experience. The Kinect xbox one or 360 version. They take allot of bandwidth in usb hub. You can only connect so many usb devices into your computer until your devices loose performance or stop working all together. If you are using a desktop. I would suggest a usb card. Preferably one that has its own dedicated usb controllers. If your using a laptop. Thunderbolt if you have it on a intel laptop. That is why its disconnecting. Hope this helps. I use the xbox one Kenect. Currently working on a scene with it. Recently installed and working. Windows 10 latest. with iclone 7 latest version. z590 ace intel motherboard. I'm serious about the usb controllers.

I have unplugged all my usb devices, except mouse and keyboard and still the (working) kinect app will not connect to iClone 7. I also have iClone 6 and get the same result!!! All my usb sockets are the blue usb3 type. This is getting most frustrating!!!!!

Hi...
Do make sure you have installed the correct drivers for the Kinect For Xbox One. There are various drivers available but you must install the correct one and only that one. If you install the incorrect drivers and/or other versions of the drivers then you will run into problems.
So the correct version of the driver if you have a Kinect For Xbox One (or Kinect For Windows V2) is named below. If you have installed the wrong drivers, please uninstall everything related to the Kinect and then just install the driver named below. This contains everything you need (software and drivers).

Thank you for your help. As you see above I did do that and even a registry clean but still no joy. The Kinect app works calibrating etc. but when it comes to connecting with iClone 7 that is where the problem starts. IClone does not detect the app. I will try and remove everything again and follow the "How to fix" document again. I'll then report back.

OK. Back again. I removed everything Kinect related. I even found some Xbox controllers and things (I don't know where they came from) and removed those too. Turned the computer off and the re-booted. Re-loaded the Kinect-Xbox-one file which loaded the microsoft drivers. Plugged in the camera usb and let it set itself up. Then turned on the plug-in. As far as I can tell it works fine. I can see my outline on the screen and it automatically calibrates showing the skeleton and joints. Then I loaded iClone 7 and loaded a default character. Opened the mocap controller tried to link to the plugin, which was running right next to iClone, and up came the message "Load Mocap Device Plug-in failed etc." I the running the plug-in first then iClone and then iClone first followed by the plug-in!!!!! still no joy!!!!!

Sorry to hear the problems are continuing.
Are you using Windows 10 and have your system fully updated with the latest Windows Updates?
If so please follow the steps on the page below and let us know at which point in the process you encounter the problem. If possible try to include a screenshot or even better a short screen capture video showing the steps you take as this may indicate where the problem is.

This is a screen shot of the kinect app. It appears to be working. I tried it in a bigger room with the same results.

Thanks for supplying further information. It looks like you are doing everything right but iClone is not able to link with the Kinect Plug-in.
One thing worth trying is to uninstall iClone and also the Kinect Mocap Plug-in and then reinstall the latest full version of iClone using the Reallusion Hub. Once iClone is installed you can install the Kinect Plug-in, but very importantly do make sure iClone is closed down when you install the Kinect Plug-in. Having iClone open when installing plug-ins is known to cause problems.
However, if the problem persists, I think it would be wise to contact our Technical Support department using the link below. If you supply your system information then they may be able to find the cause for you.

FYI. I fixed it myself. To use xbox 360 kinect with windows 10 you need the free windows kinect version 1.8 found in the link. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40278
