Am the only one not making any sales at all?

I used to make $10 - $40 per month, which I would spend back on content.

Since January 5th maybe, I haven't had a sale.

Did I piss everyone off? I read about the store change. Was a switch not flipped saying I am willing to do support or something? No one has ever asked me a question I didn't at least try and answer, unless I didn't see it.

Are the Reallusion people too busy getting ready for the Halloween release of IClone 8?

Can some one point out what things have changed ?

no theme shops more and no own shop front.
Selling and finding becomes a stroke of luck.
Now the most items are lost in nirwaner.

I agree. The idea of 10% more sounded good.

I am not that good at math, but 70% of nothing doesn't seem like an improvement.https://forum.reallusion.com/uploads/images/31b61fd6-cb08-443d-a66b-38a3.png

I certainly don't see any advantage with this new change.  And I agree, 70% of nothing is still nothing... argh.

I don't know if this has anything to do with the change, but I think the high spending required to qualify for the Free CC4 + iC8 will affect other sales.
Speaking for myself, I really have no money left to spend elsewhere.
I think this will continue for a few months.

OK. That's similar to I use to work at poker games. They would have one really good night a week. They try going to 2 nights a week, and both nights ended up not being as good because there is only so much money people have.

I don't want buy any content till I know what IClone 8 does / has, so never even considered $800 worth of content.

Please remember you can use the forum to promote your content. We have dedicated forums for developers to showcase their work. If you provide links customers should have no trouble finding the content.

Did you check your content directories and tags?? I noticed mine where all messed up after the 1st of the year and since changing them back my sales have increased alot but I add new content daily not sure if my content is just getting better or getting out to more searches now...  Justbad

I don't know what 'Check your content directories and tags means'.

I am pondering unpublishing/hiding my products indefinitely as a result of having developed some unique and high-quality products and seeing ZERO sales.

If enough of us do this, maybe RL will address the problems that various developers are having making sales.
By Data Juggler - 3 Years Ago
I made one sale the other day. I spent a little of my credits, and came back and had a little more than I did before I bought anything.

Still strange.

what yall need is an analytical approach to find out the troof of whats going on..

I suggest this following approach -   use a new browser that has not your cookies.   Visit the RL page as a new user,  and search for stuff,  then search for your stuff specifically,...observe whats different about the products popping up first - study their tags and anything else they may be doing different than your own posting.

I've done this,  and it gave me a clearer picture of how things are changing,  but I'd prefer to keep my observations to myself for now because I want to avoid turning them into conjecture -  if I see a bunny,  it does not always mean the cloud is a bunny!

yall need concrete observations before this turns into some conspiracy witch hunt lol.   -  if you compare enough empirical observations you may gain a clearer path to success ( or at least not wasting time lol )

MY content was not listed in the correct directories Iclone and character creator and many of the tags I placed when adding products where gone .
I had to re do everything and it seemed to work idk hope this helps you out.

Quick analysis of General Picture Animation link -

your tags do not favor you.   Supposing i'm a new user,  the chances that I'll look up your chosen keywords are minimal.
Your keywords are  General Picture, Toon, Adventure and India

this means if I look up sweater, hat, and bearded characters,  I will not find your product.  If I search India,  chances are I will be looking for traditional indian clothing or characters in traditional Indian garb.

I also personally avoid derivative content because it usually means I have to buy even more content before I can use your product, if I don't already have it.

Another thing,  you only have 3 Products,  giving some perspective to this,  if you walked into a store that had 3 cans of soda,  but next door is someone that had 3,000 cans of soda -  what impression would you get,  and who would you be more attracted to.  My first impression would be there is a reason this store only has 3 items so they are either old, too expensive or just a front - thought it's not true but 1st impressions = conjecture.

The law of averages are currently not in your favor because in metaphor,  the more lotto tickets you have,  the better your chance at winning at least 1 lotto ticket.

Planetstardragon, I don't agree with you.
How many products I have for sale should have nothing to do with their findability. Do you hear me? NOTHING.
Specifically, you say, "Supposing i'm a new user,  the chances that I'll look up your chosen keywords are minimal. Your keywords are  General Picture, Toon, Adventure and India..."
Granted, my project "Passage to India" is nowhere near as goofy and childish as the products that DO surface on a search for "Toon," but they are state of the art in using the toon shader and could make very pro-looking toon stories that actual adults--if there are any around here--might enjoy.
If my project doesn't surface early in a search for my keyword "Toon," don't blame me; blame a broken system.
By planetstardragon - 3 Years Ago
the system is the system though -

it's purely analytics -  if i knew math I'd make a formula for it lol -  but it's studying how their engines seem to be working and comparing it to the data you are presenting which ends up being an seo thing.  Your keywords are a niche audience, when you could be reaching a broad audience to consider your well done toon work as an option for their film.

then add to this competing against the added "Staff picks" which automatically give x users an automatic search engine boost.

the system isn't necessarily broken, because with enough analysis it can become predictable. It's just cold and fixed without a boolean algorithm to warm it up and pull in relative content.

It seems that weekly 90% discounted product sales have started for the Marketplace.
I bought the product of the week and it seems to be a good improvement for sellers.

As a marketplace buyer, I agree with you on this.
I struggle to find what I want. Sometimes I find I have more success using google 'Realusion Marketplace 'desired item'' rather than use the marketplace search.
I liked the shopfront idea. There are certain developers who I typically tend to buy from because their content suits my needs/quality requirements.
So I would usually go straight to their store first, and then if I couldn't find what I wanted I carried out a wider search.

But now, it is a game of luck....
It's a shame, because so many marketplace sellers put a lot of time and effort into their products, they need to be rewarded for their time. I'd hate to see them give up on it all
By sungod - 3 Years Ago
You can still follow a user/vendor and you will be notified if that user has published something and also go to their items directly.
