Is that only for me that way?

Since RL has changed the marketplace and cancel the theme store, seems to dead now.
Also, why do I no longer have my own shop as my Showcase Portfolio?
Can someone tell me the benefits of this change because I don't see them:unsure:

I agree that not having a dedicated storefront is a big disadvantage. Right now you have to go to separate URLs for your iClone products and your Character Creator products.

My items are all freebies, and they are still being "sold", but I don't like the fact that you can't present your products in one location.

Thanks for the feedback Vidi and Animagic. I will pass it on.

I have to voice it as well. And I am sure a lot of developers who are not present at the forum were not happy about the decision either.
Instead of converting it to have a new marketplace web design, improving it and adding new features, it was dismantled instead. It just does not makes sense.

I'm still reserving my views on this and just observing.

I've agreed that it seems like less traffic and the front page and market place seem to be directed to corporate preference labeled as staff picks. - that's obvious,  not speculation.

But I've also considered -  what if they needed to do this to amp up revenues....how important is my shop if reallusion was forced to sell out to adobe ?
so that's still part of my equation  -  as much as I push them to do better,  I still want them to survive.

So further data is needed.

Frankly, I don't see how having a storefront of some sort would disadvantage RL in any way. Many have noticed decreased traffic so that wouldn't help RL. Also, speaking as a customer, it is now harder to find all products of your favorite vendor in on place.

Knowing and loving RL for a long long time, I have come to appreciate that some of their ideas are well-intentioned but not always thought through. In this case, asking for feedback from the vendors first instead of just implementing the change would have been a better course of action.

Thank you again for the continued feedback. Please be assured we are listening to your concerns.

To explain a little more, the visitor numbers of personal and theme stores were significantly small yet the entire traffic of Marketplace has increased tremendously in the past 5 years. Therefore we decided to close both theme store and personal store. Visitors can still check on all individual developer's assets by clicking on the author's name on both index page and product page. We will also try to optimize this feature so visitors can find their favorite developers' assets more easily in the future.

We'll also provide developers new guidelines about how to use the URL with different parameters to better display the content they want to promote.

For developers who still have questions and concerns, please feel free to contact applewang@reallusion.com for more detailed operation information.

..another question.. as I mess around trying to decide what to do in the future ... (I do like making silly characters and now that they can be handled in the CC in the future ... well maybe i will make me some more..)..

When I'm logged out and my cache has been cleared I get only placeholder pages for the market place when I click on people's links.    However if i login I can can see the people's stores and when I log out as long as my cache is not removed I can see the stores.    Is this intentional? or is this not?  If not.. well then its a 'bug'

anyhoo.. *wanders off*

edit: tried to report it.. i think I did to the support ticket system I can't see anything on the feedback tracker.. i'm assuming its a bug..
