It would be great to be able to work on multiple scenes in a single animation instead of having to load and work on each separately. Even the free version of Animaker allows this!

Looking at the scene I have open right now, which is using 6.4gb of the 8gb available on my graphics card, I could see that being a fast track to using up all your system resources if you were doing anything other than very basic animations.

I don't know if I understood your request correctly, but it is possible to have several scenes in the same project. It was already possible with iClone 5 and maybe even previous versions.
To do this you need to use several cameras, each one filming a different scene within your project.
When rendering you have to use the "switcher track" which allows you to switch from one camera to another.
Of course, the more cameras, characters, props and lights you use, the less efficient your machine will be. It all depends on the specifications of your computer.
In the video below all scenes are included in the same project. The FPS varied from 13 to 20 FPS per second with a gtx 1080 ti.
