Hi Everyone.
The new CC3+ HairStudio for Character Creator is now available in the RL Content Store and Marketplace. Hairstyles Vol. 1 is the first set of this new product line by ToKoMotion. The set includes 30 hair elements and 25 pre-made hairstyles that can be freely assembled and combined with each other. You will also find hair materials and scalp skin textures to refine the overall appearance. The pack is designed to offer the most possible versatility and freedom in creating different hairstyles for your characters. From bald heads, receding hailines to full messy hairstyles - everything is possible. Start your creation by using one of the 25 included hairstyles and further customize them or create your very own unique hairstyles.
Feel free to use this thread to leave feedback, share your suggestions & ideas for upcoming HairStudio packs, ask questions or let me know if you encounter any issues using the assets. I will also share helpful hints & tricks, additional promo materials and more development previews here in the future.
This is just the beginning...

I'm also working on another Introduction/Tutorial video on how to work with the assets. It will be ready soon and I will post it here as well. Stay tuned. :)
In the meantime I also played with HairStudio and created a cute hairstyle for this little guy from my CC3 Stylized Pack:
Really loved the look, saved it as a Hair Group and applied it to ToKoHuman "Sean" afterwards. I have to say I really like what CC did with auto-conforming the hair to Sean's head shape:
Some 80' s vibes here! :D

Just a few hours left for the Old Year, so I thought it would be a good idea to say "Hello" to the New Year with a quick preview of what you can expect for HairStudio in early 2022. :)

Just did some Iray render tests today to see how HairStudio performs and I have to say it works quite well...
...oh, and unfortunately I still haven't finished the 1st Introduction/Tutorial Video for HairStudio yet. Too much other stuff is going on right now - but it should be ready next week. Stay tuned & Thanks for your patience.

Hi Everyone.
Sorry for my longer absence, but a lot of things happened here lately and unfortunately I couldn't spend as much time as planned on content production. Just wanted to let you know that I'm still working on new HairStudio stuff and 2 new Hairstyle packs are almost ready. My initial plan was to release at least one in March, but I can't promise this anymore as final testing and promo preparation is always very time consuming. I'll do my best to have everything ready very soon.
Here are some early previews for some of the hair elements of one of the packs. Enjoy and Stay tuned! :)

Just before the release of some new HairStudio packs I will provide an update for the current HairStyles Vol.1 which will slightly increase visual quality and enhance performance & handling of the SmartHair material features.
Here is a quick comparison of the old and new material - same hair color and render setup for both pics (CC4 rendering):

Just a quick update on the Material Update for HairStudio Vol.1: Had to deal with some last-minute issues and still working on it, but should be done tomorrow and will be available during the day.
Here is another preview from CC4 to keep attention high: One of the base styles applied to CC4 Kevin using CC4 Default Atmospheres for rendering.
(Note: Of course, everything will be also available in CC3, but I will use CC4 for the promo materials from now on, as it looks a bit better :D.)

Hi Everyone.
The Update for HairStudio - Hairstyles Vol.1 is now live and can be downloaded via SmartGallery/ContentManager. Please uninstall the old pack first, sync your SmartGallery/ContentManager and re-install the pack.
All Hairstyles (HairGroups) and HairElements stay the same:
Materials are now moved to MaterialPlus folder and have been slightly adjusted. The old material versions can also be found in "_v1_Materials" folder:
Please let me know if you have any questions or if you encounter any issues.

Hi Everyone.
I added some new "Universal MaterialPlus" to HairStudio Hair Styles and Beard Styles. They will mainly create a bit more structure and volume for the hair assets and can freely combined with the original materials as shown in the previews above and below. The update should be available via the SmartContent Manager and you will find the Materials here:
Stage -> MaterialPlus -> ToKoMotion -> HairStudio -> 00_Universal_Materials
