[Find Love]

So this project was really personal to me as I started using iClone back at the end of 2005. Hikaru Utada was the subject of my first video way back when, so it seems appropriate that I used them again!
Project was part based on this particular video:

It's such a great song that I had to make a video about it.

So I first started making the models face with Headshot in CC3:

This was one of the several fun things about character design for me, I really like going through and adjusting all the sliders to try and perfect things. I probably spent a good week editing the face alone. From there I spent time creating some different designs and outfits for the model for my several scenes that are through out the video:

These are the major 3 designs that I used through out my video. I had some extra converted models from Tomb Raider (happy 25th!) that I had from a few years ago that I placed around my first street scene where Hikaru walks toward camera. Those were created using the FBX import feature of 3DXchange.

Once I set up most scenes I started a main file where I was going to work on lip sync alone. I used only Acculips for the video as I really wanted to test how far I could try and push my skills with the basic iClone software.

Acculips is really great, but it's not 100%. I went in and fine tuned a lot of the mouth movements, but it's definitely a great start! One tip I can give is when you go in an fine tune the wording, try to spell things out how they sound...not how they are spelled. I found that the lip flaps became a lot closer to what it would actually look like in real life. Same thing with removing overly complicated mouth shapes for longer words. try and remove a few to make the mouth flaps look smoother.
