2021 iClone Lip-Sync Animation Contest - Juliet's Balcony - WIP
Entry #1 by Andrea Scholer
“Juliet's Balcony” is a re-imagination of Act 2, Scene 2 of "Romeo and Juliet" by William Shakespeare. I've enjoyed learning Marvelous Designer, especially in conjunction with iClone, so I wanted to create an animation with a historical setting to challenge my costume design skills.

I used Ava from Replica Studios to voice Juliet.

Once I had Juliet's dialogue, I used iClone's AccuLips and ExPlus to animate her face. Using Unreal Live Link, I loaded the animation into Unreal Engine 4 to use with Metahumans then migrated the animated file into Unreal Engine 5.

In iClone, I used Motion Layer adjustments on Actor Core animations for Juliet's body. Using Unreal Live Link, I loaded the animations into Unreal Engine 4 to use with Metahumans then migrated the animated files into Unreal Engine 5.

Juliet is a blended Metahuman from Unreal Engine that I customized in Substance Painter.

I designed Juliet's dress in Marvelous Designer and textured it in Substance Painter.

I created Juliet's hair groom using Blender's particle editor.
