Hi...

Unfortunately that isn't possible as Headshot characters are not compatible with CrazyTalk. As CrazyTalk is now older software it is only compatible with the older Character Creator 1 and 2 versions.

However you can do everything you can do in CrazyTalk 8 with Character Creator 3 + Headshot + iClone. So you could create a character in CC3 using Headshot and then transfer that character to iClone to add a voice and facial animation just as you can do in CrazyTalk. One of the big plus points for using iClone is that it allows you to animate the body and the face whereas in CrazyTalk you can only animate the head.

Uhmmm, I just bought Crazy Talk 8 after buying iClone, CC3 and Headshot some time ago, Now I read that Crazy Talk is an older program and not compatible with CC3, and that CC3 and iClone can do the same as Crazy Talk?

CrazyTalk 8 is primarily a standalone program but it is able to import and export avatars from iClone 6 and Character Creator 2 if you have the Pipeline version of CrazyTalk 8.

Sadly with CrazyTalk 8 now being a legacy product (no longer updated) it is not fully compatible with iClone 7 and Character Creator 3, although it is still possible to send a CrazyTalk 8 head to Character Creator 3 if you use a CC1 avatar. However, if you already have the Headshot plug-in then you will get far superior results with that rather than with the older technology used in CrazyTalk 8.

So basically if you only wish to work in 3D creating 3D heads from photos, then using Headshot is now the recommended way to do it. But if you want to be able to create 2D talking heads from any photo and have it talking and animated in minutes then CrazyTalk 8 is a great tool to keep in your collection. This is why it remains a very popular product for those new to character animation.
