Hi,

Here is an app for iOS and Android wich uses textures taken with the camera of a smartphone or tablet from coloring books. The textures are then maped to the animation you can see at the end of the video.

What is the technology behind ? Is this vectors ?

Is this Cartoon Animator or something like this ?

I can see Maya is used with this video here:

Hi...

This is clearly not Cartoon Animator 4. It's called Blink Book as stated on the YouTube page so I'm a little curious why you are asking if it is CTA4 (free promotion possibly) :Whistling:

As I understand it this is an App where you scan a picture from one of the three or four books they have available for purchase and then the picture animates on your phone or tablet. Now if it were possible to scan any picture and animate it then it would be impressive but sadly that is not the case.

Scanning pictures and having them animate immediately is not possible but it is quite easy to create a "Free Bone" character from any picture in Cartoon Animator and have that animated in a few minutes. :)

Thanks Peter for your reply. I know this is not directly CA4 but I was asking if the animations contained in the app where made with CA4 possibly. I have perfectly understood BlinkBook is not an animation creation app like CA4 is.

This is not a promotion for the app, not at all. It’s just Just a « behind the scenes or making of « question. Yes, you are right, it’s technically possible to create this kind of animation into iClone or CA4.

Thanks for your explanations.

I think CTA4 can handle that.
Basically, you can make the cut-out of the body parts as the sprites.
