I recently purchased the basic version of the software and experimented with one of the actors only to find out that the end result included the software water mark?

Hi...
It sounds like you still have the trial version installed. You need to uninstall the trial version and then install the full version of CrazyTalk 8. Once installed you won't get a watermark when rendering to video.
