Hi all,
I'm getting frequent "FBX EXPORT FAILED" messages, for lots of different models, in Character Creator.

As an example, I open Character Creator, open the SkinGen_Makeup example project, export as FBX clothed character then choose the Unreal profile, and it starts working then says "Fbx export failed" with no explanation. If I quit Character Creator then restart, sometimes that fixes it (!!!!!). Sometimes it doesn't. So frustrated. :-)

Official support hjasn't been able to help so far, I think they are super busy. Took two days then I got the advice to make sure I have enough room in my temp folder. I have 2 terabytes available, so that's not it :-)  Anyone know why this is happening? And so randomly?

BTW I've never had these issues before. I have full pipeline version and 3dxchange etc so it's not a limitation of a trial or because I don't have Pipeline etc. And its the default characters I'm seeing the issue on, so it can't be export licenses etc. It's WEIRD. :-)

By default the Temp folder is stored on your C: drive. Do you have 2 Terabytes free on the C: drive or in total? Nowadays its common to have a small SSD C: drive with the OS on it and then a larger D: data drive. Do check that the drive where your Temp folder is located has plenty of free space. Even if you installed Character Creator on a large drive with 2TB of space the temp folder may still be located on a drive that is low in space.

Thanks Peter, sorry yes I meant that it is on a drive that has 2tb of free space (not my system drive)

That doesn't seem to be the cause unfortunately. Any other ideas? I wish it showed an error message or that there was a log of all errors inside iClone that I could read! :-) Would really solve so many problems

I was getting this problem because my save file path was too long. Make sure you're not saving into a deeply nested folder or with a file name that's too long.
