Lots of great tutorials here!  But is there a tutorial for retargeting ActorCore motions to Genesis 8 then exporting/importing into Daz?  I know it can be done through motionbuilder but wondering if that step can be eliminated?

UPDATE:  Solomon Jagwe posted an excellent tutorial on YT on how to do this!

Hi msjaebea,

thanks for the video info,
we currently do not have tutorials for direct import into Daz yet,
but we continue to look for solutions.

Feel free to share more tips regarding the topic with us,
big thanks.

Hello everyone,

Actorcore looks great !
However, how do you use it with 3ds max Biped ?
(the famous character studio).

Many people still prefer "biped" over CAT.

Hi Julosheels,

ActorCore currently only offers FBX as the output format,
and since 3dsMax doesn't offer retargeting FBX to .biped function(that we know of),
may I suggest you try retargeting to CAT instead?

We'll continue to look for ways to provide FBX retargeting for our .biped users,
feel free to let us know if there's any information regarding this topic,
thank you.

Thank you for the reply,

that's too bad, .bip or .bvh would be amazing.

Hi Julosheels,

We wish there's a solution for all .biped users,
there's some 3rd party plugins that might work.
However, since we cannot guarantee if the developer would continue to provide maintenance for the plugin,
we need to rely on official tools.

feel free to let us know if there's any information regarding this topic,
thank you.

Thank you, I understand.

What are these plugins ? free or paid ?
(I tried a script from scriptspot but it didn't work...)
right now we can't use your great mocaps.

Hi JuloSheels,

I cannot recommend unofficial / untested products,
but there's some interesting stuff on YouTube when I searched "FBX to Biped".

Thank you Albert ! ;-)

I found a paid one that works very well, but it's on subscription.

Anyway, the best would be if you took care of it officially !
After all there are still many 3ds max users out there.

And thank you for the great mocaps, great work.

Hi Julosheels,

Glad to hear you found a solution,
we're keep searching for better workflows for .biped users,
thanks for the support. :D

Hi everyone! I'm also one of those dinosaurs 3dsmax users :)
Julosheels, would you mind sharing the software that you found works well? I looked it up too and couldn't find anything that works well right off the box.

Thanks!

Chris

Hello Chris,

Animcraft works,
but it's a subscription and you pay for a lot of other features that you might not need
it looks great though, very user friendly, maybe more for games

So the best would be a native solution here of course

Cheers
