IN CC3 there is an option to apply an " image" to a light,also "light shapes" but not in IC7.
Request same option in Iclone7 which only has the colour palette .
Or maybe option to export Lights with Character from CC3.
Exporting as fbx and reimporting via 3Dexchange would be clumsy worlflow - IF it works that way ?

There is no difference between iClone and CC lights.
Well, there is  . CC uses Spot lights in the default project while iClone uses Directional lights.
Spot lights (and Point light as well) can have images/shapes applied, while Direction lights do not have that option.
This is true for both iClone and CC and you can have any type of lights in both.
