I've followed as many of the iClone 7 and 6 tutorials I could find but I've run into a problem using fbx animations I've imported (which have root motion). I've been able to join the Motion clips to do a simple run, stop and 180 degree turn but when I add an idle on the end, and rotate it to match the character's new orientation, I get really bad foot slipping all over the place. Can anyone help explain why it's happening and how to fix it?

Hi, i have had similar issues and i asked myself if there is a way to remove the root motion. Not that i am sure, but maybe this could be a solution in your case. You could try to save your motions with resetting the motion root and then load them back.
https://manual.reallusion.com/iClone_7/ENU/Content/iClone_7/Pro_7.4/09_Animation_Timeline_Editing/Reset_Motion_Root.htm
This is only wild guess, so i say sorry in advance if it doesn't help.

I don't think you need to turn her around. Do you have those 2 checked? Specially the second.

Thanks @4u2ges (and 3dtester) for taking the time to help out.
So yeah, it turns out that 'Align to Actor Orientation' in the Animation Motion Setting Options isn't ticked on by default.
Worth nothing, for anyone coming to this later, that as per the manual: First: "Make sure there are no motions applied to the character." Then you can: "Access the Animation menu >> Motion Setting Options and check the Reset Motion Root Rotate." See: https://manual.reallusion.com/iClone_7/ENU/Content/Search.htm?q=Motion%20Setting%20Options
That first point seems odd but it's important. Just ticking the option and reimporting the idle Motion does nothing. What I had to do was to 'Collect' all of the previous animations into a new Motion clip (the run and turn) and then delete them. Then I re-imported this saved Motion and finally I added the idle on the end - which as @4u2ges suggested then didn't need any rotation.
