French influence :D

Trying some new iClone things for "Sandy" resulted in a small standalone project - I call it "Cancelled".

Haha.. liked when he looked over his shoulder like "wtf is happening??"

Nice work!
By Amper Sand - 6 Years Ago
Thanks, @doubblesixx :) Basically, this was (and still is) intended to be a "learning pad", but I had fun making this short sequence :)

Here's the polished version, with the whole decor set - lights, furniture, appearance - if not more realistic, at least more accurate.

Nice job i like the fear as the hologram moves in on the droid .Too funny. :D:D:D
By Amper Sand - 6 Years Ago
Here's the "official" beginning, still a lot of work to polish animations, but funny enough :)

By 4u2ges - 6 Years Ago
Nice one lol. Please continue and finish :)

Keeps getting better!

More interactions between droids :D

Brilliant Animation, very funny, i love it.

Today it was public holiday here, so I reworked the "hologram" scene to add lights & effects.
Have a question: what would be a solution to dynamically modify a character's hair appearance? Specifically, in the sequence below, the hologram is assumed to have some sort of static electricity, so it come in my mind when Heidi will briefly cross it, her hair will suddenly raise and become fluffy (you know, like in the high-school the Van der Graaf generator experiment) It's not a critical thing, if I won't find a good-looking solution I will scrap that, but I would like to do it :)

By 3DChick - 6 Years Ago
You could try using the "wind" or "force" features in her hair physics...I *think* you could set the y value to something like -100 or even higher to make her hair sort of fly up. Like all physics, you'll have to play with it a bit to get it to do what you want. You might have to set the physics, bake them, then trim the Soft Cloth parameter to edit out the parts you don't like and make it seem sudden at that one point.

Just an idea--there are lots of ways to accomplish things.
Very fun animations!

You can use Gravity and World Size in Project settings. Unfortunately, you cannot control that on the timeline. But you may render in 2 steps, with normal settings and with customized.

Here, the first part I rendered with normal settings. And then set X gravity to 2.0, Z gravity to -2.0 and world size to 4 and then recorded a second part.

@nelm2010 @4u2ges
Thank you both very much - I will try and let you know :)

Update: the droid seems to enjoy an unparalleled experience - and the iPad on the rescue :)

On a serious note: I improved a bit the smoke and steam appearance

Let's talk about French influence to our culture :D

Ahh, she is finally materialized. I was waiting for that :P

Nice to see your project evolving... Well done ;)
I assume you made transition "wireframe" to "normal" with 2 renders, blended in NLE?

Thanks, glad if you liked it :)
Yes, there are two renders, but blended by video editing in HitFilm, together with those electric dischages and small visual effects.
The only regret about the wireframe in iClone is that, unlike the smooth appearance, the wireframe is not a 3D one, ie its wire isn't tubes or cylinders, so it doesn't cast or receive shadows. I said "I regret" because my original plan was to make girl's wireframe glowing electric-blue but customer's one gray-black, like a cheap iron net :) but it looked like s**t; I've tried also some copper-like, the same, because obviously having no shadows was looking very flat and false.

Thanx for Info...
Never used wireframe, just did little test.
How did you change colour/added glow to that wireframe??

The wireframe is mainly processed in HitFilm - its iClone color is pure white, so in Hitfilm I've used as color replacement "classic cine style", combined with "glow" and opacity; since all are keyframe-able was easy to get desired transition wireframe-normal state effect. Also, in the iClone, "inside" girl's wireframe is hidden an "electric-blue" light to 3D-illuminate objects around (which I cannot achieve using 2D glowing of HitFilm) and its dim-bright variation I've then followed in HitFilm.

Ah, thanx for insight!

More French influence :D

The mannequin finally got some action :w00t:

By 4u2ges - 6 Years Ago
Nice action :)
By toystorylab - 6 Years Ago
Yo, nice! :D
By Amper Sand - 6 Years Ago
Thank you both :)

Yesterday I had to replace the original YouTube link with Vimeo's one because the YouTube version brought a first for me: after one hour or so after publishing, I've got the following email from YouTube:
Your video was flagged to us for review. Upon review, we’ve determined that it violates our guidelines and we’ve removed it from YouTube.
I don't know if somebody overzealous flagged it after only seven views, or it was an AI flag, doesn't matter anyway, I went immediately straight to the Appeal button and, surprisingly... I won - the video was back after about 10 hours, marked (and recommended to be in the future) 18+ :D

Oh prudery, sick people
By Amper Sand - 6 Years Ago
Now that I have my new hardware fully setup, I also have a better video (polished, 1.30 secs longer, even I screwed pretty badly a keyframe, but I observed this only after upload).
I hope you will enjoy (and don't get fooled by the ending, nothing gruesome will follow :w00t: )

Nice work! I like the story / topic and the overall appearance of the scene and characters.
Of course i'm curious about the ending ;)
By gordryd - 6 Years Ago
Well done!  I chuckled when the violin player started playing the "Star Wars" theme and again when the chicken entered (hope I am not giving away too much of the plot!)

Really good work. Story, lighting, animation
By Amper Sand - 6 Years Ago
Thank you, thank you, thank you :)
Sorry, but I HAD to fix that keyframe, it was scratching my eyes and my brain. So here is the updated version - starting with 5:50 is slightly polished, mainly "her" expression, need to suggest she's getting some sort of consciousness. Also, there's audio at the very end, to drop a hint about what will follow (those who loves classical SciFi might recognize it, and even laugh :D )

By Amper Sand - 6 Years Ago
Just added my first "serious", polished viseme, I'm quite pleased with the result (I mean, it could have been worse), the continuation will have plenty of it, together with some heavy animations :w00t:

By StyleMarshal - 6 Years Ago
haha , super funny :-)  first I thought darth vader is coming at the end ;-)  Yeah , what is he doing?
Nice to see how you polish up your story/animation with every update :-)
By Amper Sand - 6 Years Ago
Added almost 2 new minutes: a bit of drama, Christian and Heidi are back, and a multi-purpose HUD :D

By rosuckmedia - 6 Years Ago
@ampertox,
Hello ampertex,
I like the clips very much,
the animations turned out very well, Great Work:):)
Best regards rosuckmedia
By 4u2ges - 6 Years Ago
Pure fun :)
By Amper Sand - 6 Years Ago
Thanks, thanks - more robots :)
I highly enjoyed doing the Netflix scene - the Mixamo musician is a great character (whoever originally created it was very inspired) - also the brief "The Exorcist" spoof when she hands over the projector to the host droid. I hope the continuation will be equally good, if not better. (As a note, after so much keyframing, I think I will become a Chuck Norris of confined space animations :)

AmperSand That was incredible! Wow! Very creative silent movie. Is it a iClone render or Iray? either way it looks great.

Thanks :) Glad you liked it.
It's iClone renderer, no Iray involved.
It's a very discrete HDR applied, colors and lights are everything iClone. I've used HitFilm for the wireframe, for smoke and to compose the HUD videos (diffuse and opacity).
I didn't work too much on it last two weeks, because I played with reach effectors and some PopcornFX effects for the next scene :D
Thanks again :)
