I am using i clone7 to create animations for my cc3 characters to be used in unreal engine 4. My plan is to create the Blueprints for the character movements on these characters and to sell them on ue4 market place. but id like to sell this programming with the animations " I Create" none of my motions would be purchased. i am using The Curve Editor and to Key Frame my animations. so the question is do i have to sell what i create in iclone on reallusion content store?

Since no one has responded yet, I'll give my two cents :) As far as I'm aware, anything content created with Character creator/iClone can only be sold on the reallusion marketplace/content store. I could be wrong here so let's hope someone else chimes in.

Hi...
As Dorothy has already explained, content created in iClone and Character Creator can normally only be sold in our own stores. If you have any questions you can contact developer[at]reallusion.com for clarification.

Hi Peter,
please clearify:
Is it technically not possible to export my product or not allowed by Reallusion restrictions?
Can you tell us where we can read about this restrictions?
Thx Reinhard

Hi Reinhard
You can certainly export content for non-commercial use in other 3D software and you can also incorporate Reallusion characters and content in games which can be sold. What you can't do is sell the content (characters, props, motions etc.) directly in 3rd party stores. This type of content can only be sold in the Reallusion Marketplace or Content Store.
Please see the limitations section of the EULA for more on this.

Do certain developers have special privileges? Or does this apply to EVERYONE across the board?

It applies to everyone. The only exception would be if you had a written agreement in place before the creation of the Marketplace and the new EULA.

If I have come across a 3rd party website that has content for sale, who do I reach out to make sure it's not going against the EULA? I rather not post it here for all to see.

Hi... You can send me a private message if you think someone is in breach of the EULA and we'll look into it. Thanks.

question about use of content in a game - if I'm looking to create clothing that might be available for purchase (skins in a game ala fortnight for example) - does this count as a 3rd party marketplace? The user isn't getting any of the source assets, all of the content is packed in the game and not exportable to other applications?
The content license is a bit vague in this sense.

My understanding is that if the content contains any RL meshes (such as characters, hair, or even any of the default clothing) then it is not allowed to be resold elsewhere because RL owns the copyright on that content. Since RL content can only be used within RL software, any user that uses it has paid RL for the software which includes the right to use the RL content.
Any content that you create yourself and make available in the Reallusion Marketplace (or Reallusion Content Store) can be resold in other stores because the content is entirely yours.
Where it can get into grey areas is when you used the default RL content as a base but have significantly modified it. For example, a lot of tight fitting clothing is created by starting with a character cutting out the parts of the mesh that are not needed and then manipulating the mesh to create the article of clothing. In such cases, parts of the mesh may still be RL original meshes but significant portions of the content are now your work.
It should be noted that Reallusion isn't unique in this. The EULA for Daz Studio, for example, is similar. You can't resell content that contains DAZ Studio owned meshes (such as characters, hair and default clothing).
