Hide body mesh tool makes clothing disappear

I've made a custom bathing suit in zBrush and want to edit it using the hide body mesh tool, though when I try to hide a body part the clothing mesh disappears as well. is this fixable? didn't work on other pieces of clothing I made eitherhttps://forum.reallusion.com/uploads/images/a62ead48-e8b1-4841-af4d-5274.png

Pay special attention to the "Fixing Visual Defects Part 1: Mesh Editing" video.  You can pull, push and smooth the mesh to fix the problem.
