Is there a way to use a game controller to control and trigger character movement in live animation or recording animation? Facial tracking is not the right mode for my use case. Also triggering animation loops would be much appreciated. Like, jump or bow or spin on push of a button. Do you have any recommendations or experience regarding this? Thanks and best, Simon

Hi, the plug-in "Move That Camera" allows you to control any prop using a gamepad or keys. Then you can record and apply the animations to the timeline. After using this for a while, i got some pretty good results.
The other things you are looking for, are usually not implemented in an animation tool like iClone. Although i can imagine that it would be possible using Python scripting.
Finally, i strongly recommend UE4 for this approach :)

Hi, Thanks for your swift response. So, that plug-in would be in iClone, right? This is not something that would be possible within Cartoon Animator 4 itself, right?
Best, Simon

Hi Simon
Unfortunately Cartoon Animator doesn't have an Open API like iClone so this option isn't available. At present game controllers are not supported in CTA4.

does anyone know a way to export motions from iClone into a G3 character of Cartoon Animator 4? Right now the rlMotion file is supporting ONLY G2 characters. It is not accepting the G3 characters which is a shame. I hope there is a way to animate the G3 characters with motion capture used to record in the iClone. Hope someone can solve this for me.

@naaffax Convert the G3 character into a G1 or G2 character.
