First of all, I’m not a Star Wars Fanboy…

I remember seeing the first Star Wars movie end of 1977 and Episode I – The Phantom Menace in 1999.
That’s it…

After seeing AnimaTechnica’s request:

https://forum.reallusion.com/432921/looking-to-commission-a-star-wars-short

I wrote him a message to ask for the budget before wasting my time.

In the meantime I did some research, found some free models
and watched particular parts of this deathstar scene several times:

Meanwhile, I got my budget information:  100,-$

WTF, but I was infected and with some help from Forum-Member Tripfreak I decided to do it,

as I had some spare time and working on stories, outlined by others, is always good practice.

While working on the predefined project, some additional stormtrooper scenes awoke and made my day…

The models have some flaws, but were free, so what…

Again, iClone has proven being a reliable and fast animation engine!

And it was big fun to work with, that’s the most important thing for me…

HAVE FUN:

Or watch it on Vimeo (if needed, with German subtitles):

Nice!!
Given the fact that you are not a Star Wars fan, as well the budget and production time, makes it even more impressive ;)
Well done

That was very nicely done. I just hope that people will not think that this is a reasonable budget...:P

Pieter,
No fan boy here either. I enjoyed the first three STAR WAR movies done in the 70s & 80s but that's it.
Excellent parody with great characters & great sets!  Parts of it reminded of SPACE BALLS. Awesome super-spaced out speeder bike at the end. :D To me, one of the characters a sub-lieutenant facially looked like an American actor from the 50s-60s-70s named Aldo Ray.
Watching it, makes me want a pair of brown pants for all my "Oh sh*t!" moments. :P
May the FARCE be with you.

I didn't watch it til today because I am also a non star wars fan. Spaceballs is a different matter ;) I didn't watch the original until the mid 80's. Well done, The voice over was great as well as the animation!

Hi Toystorylab, really nice job on this and the visuals look great. a lean budget and slim story line surely didn't affect your efforts here so it is much appreciated. The event i showed it loved it and again a commendable effort

Forgot my original login so ended up posting with a new account. But have since found my login info. I must say iclone has gone a long way since i last used it and the renders are  stunning

Well done. As a Star Wars' fan (oldboy) this parody is excellent.

Fun feature TSL and pretty impressive on such a quick turnaround (and for someone with limited fanboy-ness).  Always cool to see collaborations.
