Hello
I'm a newbie and would like to import an iAvatar created by Character Creater 3.
I have created a character in CC3 using the headshot plug-in, and then saved it as an iAvatar.
Then I opened Crazy Talk 8 and tried to import the iAvatar, but I got this error message:
This file is not supported by CrazyTalk. Please try another file.
Can't I import an iAvatar exported from CC3 into Crazy Talk 8?

Hi...

Unfortunately CrazyTalk 8 is an older product so it is only compatible with .iAvatars generated from iClone 6 or Character Creator 2. Really though if you have iClone 7 and are using Headshot you will be better animating your character in iClone 7 anyway where you can take advantage of the advanced lighting and the digital human shader.

From scanning the forums it seems that there's a way to export a CC3 character from CC2 so that it's compatible with CT8, right?

I would like to use CT8 to animate the character since it's Mac compatible.

You can't export a CC3 Base character from Character Creator 2 but you can export a CC1 Base character. This can then be opened in CrazyTalk 8 Pipeline.

But nothing created in iClone 7 or CC3 is backwards compatible right?
So in other words, there's no way to use a character created in the iClone 7 or CC3 in CT8?

Unfortunately that's correct. The file format used in iClone 7 and CC3 is not compatible with CrazyTalk 8.
