Hi,

maybe you have seen this before, I found Lucas Martell today on YouTube. His film is excellent and inspiring and he also has 20 tutorials that are very helpful to animators.

He didn't use iclone to make his film but his mastery of the craft, his sense of humor and his tutorials are well worth a look.

Let me know what you think.

Cheers

There have been a couple other topics that made me think of bringing this film up.

Five years.

There's value in being patient.

Yep, whole different ball game this film.  Lucas Martell used high end software to produce this film and it still took 5 years.  However there was a lot of learning involved and I'm sure it won't take that long to make his next piece.  The other incredible thing is that he spent $5000 (£3000) on the music.  Wish I had that sort of money to spend on my projects, I spend no where near that in a year on my work and getting funding in the UK......well just forget it.

There is so much to learn from this films but this is not the only one, check these out:-

If I get anywhere near this standard I'll be over the moon :)

They all have one thing in common.  These have all been produced by “Civilian Directors” on very limited budgets.  The live action movie made by Kate Madison was mainly funded by her, has been highly publicised in the UK and has began to open doors for her.

We can only try.

Cape!

Pigeon: Impossible is WONDERFUL.

...but about those five years - for every Pigeon, there are hundreds of other filmmakers who have also taken five years on films that just weren't good.

..and hundreds of others who took even longer and never finished the project.

In this PARTICULAR case, five years paid off big time.
