Is it me or has something changed with submitting videos to Reallusion TV? In the past I have submitted nine videos to Reallusion TV and never encountered this problem. On the submission page when I select video for showcase type I copy the link for the video from YouTube (like I have done in the past) and then insert the link in the appropriate box. However, after I click the submit button this error message pops up: “The file or link is not appropriate, please check again.” I have tried cutting and pasting the link again over several days with always the same error message popping up. I receive no other error messages and all the categories with * are filled. I’m stumped. Any help would be appreciated.

I had the same problem, after trying again and again it worked... But for some reason they changed their policy of submitting, all my films were accepted so far, but my latest 2 submissions:
and
were not accepted...:pinch::exclamation:

toystorylab, Thank you for your reply. I guess I’ll just keep trying until it works like you did. Tried again today with no luck. I’m sorry to hear your recent video submissions were not chosen for Reallusion TV. I’ve watched and commented on both and they are quite good. I agree Reallusion must have a new policy or criteria for what they want to show on Reallusion TV. But I’m not aware of any new posted guidelines or requirements. Did you receive any feedback as to why your videos weren’t accepted?
Perhaps someone from Reallusion can answer the following questions: How does one get a Director’s Certificate now? The previous process was you submitted to Reallusion TV and waited a couple days to several weeks to receive an acceptance. After acceptance, you were sent a Director’s Certificate link (to print) by email and your video was published on Reallusion TV. Now must a video be accepted for the $100 to get a Director’s Certificate? And throughout the year, how many videos will be accepted for the $100, one a month, 12 a month, 120 a month? And any idea why the link is "twitchy" on the Reallusion TV Submission page?

The only policy I'm aware of that needs to be at least 1 minute long. However, looking at the submission form now, there seem to be other (unspecified) criteria, based on this:
Reallusion TV - Showcase Collection! We’re looking for the best showcases made with Reallusion Product, to promote on Reallusion TV! And, if your work gets picked by our team, then you'll get a $100 value reward from us. Simply submit your best work to catch our attention! So does this mean you can submit and it will be shown regardless, and when picked by staff you get $100? Or does it mean that only those picked by staff get shown?
I don't know... Clarification would be helpful. I wish we could get the $100 retroactively...:P
@toystorylab, I will look at your videos later.

Good luck with your submission. :D I've tried twice since you posted and both times I still get "The File or Link is inappropriate, please try again" for the video submission line. Thanks! As to your submission, what type of link link do you use? If YouTube, Vimeo, or Facebook it should be OK.

Success! :D
I figured it out after a morning of trial and error and was able to submit my video to Reallusion TV. Initially I kept inserting the shareable link to my YouTube video which was https://youtu.be/82uo4iXezsU. That had always worked in the past, however I kept getting this message: “The file or link is not appropriate, please check again.” :crazy:Experimenting, I had a video on Vimeo. When I clicked the copy link button it gave me a choice of video link or embed code. At that point I realized the Reallusion TV submission page stated: * Submit your video via a YouTube, Vimeo or Facebook embed link (URL): Ah, embed was the key. ;) Back on YouTube with my video selected I clicked Share and chose Embed option: This is what I copied and pasted into the video submission field: I hope this helps anyone with the same problem. So what tripped me up was the YouTube shareable link code used to work for all my previous submission to Reallusion TV. Now it must be the Embed code. And thanks again to toystorylab and animagic for responding to my question. :)

Congratulations!
I was going to suggest that the youto.be URL might not work as it didn't for the forum in the past. Because it now does, I didn't mention it. I should have and could have saved you some pain...
BTW, I used https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KbCe2dMCoXQ and that worked as well.

Walt_R (11/4/2019) Did you receive any feedback as to why your videos weren’t accepted? No, I simply got no response at all, so i thought something might have gone wrong. I re-submitted both a few days ago and added the question "any particular reason why not accepted?" in the "optional comments" box. No reply so far...

I also would like to know what has changed in RL-TV policy...
I did submit something 3 months ago. A month later I got this:
Thank you for your submission. We appreciate your efforts to create and submit this project /video, but we are afraid that it does not fit well with the type of project that we looking for in the gallery section for ReallusionTV. For better information on the type of content that we wish to showcase, please refer to the other videos we have on display. Much appreciation for your work, and we wish to see your new content in the future!
Excuse me? That much for the policy? You want me to create something based upon what I see on RL TV?? Not to mention the quality of my work was way higher than some of those recently accepted (though it is sure subjective).
I did not even know Reallusion TV exists up until a few months ago, when I noticed an unusual traffic in YouTube analytics (apparently they picked and submitted one of my work on they own). Now that video was taken down as well, probably at the same time.. lol
I doubt I will ever be submitting anything else.
But good luck to you guys, hope your work be accepted eventually :)

4u2ges (11/10/2019) hank you for your submission. From the Certification page:
A RCD is a person who is skilled with Reallusion products and able to produce iClone/CrazyTalk videos in good quality.
If that is satisfied, the video should be accepted. It should not be based on some RL staff vagaries... Sorry, but I have to rant here.

I’m sure that was both upsetting and disappointing. For us who have recently submitted or who will submit in the future it seems we will be exploring undiscovered country.

I submitted three (3) moviews of mine a couple of months ago and a month later I got this email:
After evaluating your entry, our team of judges did not approve it due to not meeting our showcase quality standards. The quality of facial animation can be improved, and include some unsuitable footage. To help, we would like to provide you with some very useful tutorials that we think can better support iClone animators - http://www.reallusion.com/iclone/iclone_training.aspx.
Not only wasn't it specified which movie had been refused (I guess it was "Prying eyes" since they also told me the content was "unsuitable" and this movie happens to be situated in a strip-club), but their "team of judges" told me my facial animation was lacking and, not only that, but they referred me to the tutorials on their website; it didn't come to their minds that I watched those tutorials over and over again and that, maybe, my facial animation was deliberately suited to the purposed of the film. They have the right not to like my facial animation, but to recomment me to watch some tutorials is... well, pretty insulting.
As for the question of moral "unsuitability", strip-clubs are, unfortunately, a fact of life. There is no nudity in my movie and they let me publish it on the forums. If it's good enough for the forums, why isn't it good enough for the contest?
It seems to me that the one who writes the emails lacks some kind of orientation, to say the least. I'm not sure if I'll ever enter this contest again.

It's instructive in this context to see what is deemed "acceptable", by going to Reallusion TV. If technical perfection is the norm, then there are flaws that slip through...

I went to the current certification page and for some reason, the Certified Director option is no longer there (only Developer or Trainer). See: https://www.reallusion.com/About/certificationcenter_certificate.aspx. You can enter your email at the bottom to view your certificate. Nothing came up for me.
So I checked on archive.org, which gave me an older version of the web page: https://web.archive.org/web/20161219050505/http://reallusion.com/About/certificationcenter_certificate.aspx.
This one includes the Certified Director. I have no idea what is going... There's no longer love for filmmakers...:crying:

Mine was accepted also and yes, you guessed it... No notification. I only checked because of you guys. Interesting about no more Director's Certificates. Perhaps in the future they'll come up with something with a different criteria to qualify for one. I agree with you, animagic, lately it's hard to feel the love if you're using iClone just for movie making. But on the bright side, our videos were posted. Mine is under TV Shows. I'm sort of curious as to how long it's been posted?

Thanks Walt, I find it strange that they do not notify people....or it seems some they do for some? the link must have been broken from the time it was posted, that's a pity. I'll message them to correct it. I know there are improvements to be made and I'm working/learning iClone most days, but It won a first-place trophy in my local competition which was nice, I've entered it into a bigger 3-day comp now which is in March so fingers crossed it picks up some stars. First, I want to thank Reallusion for accepting my videos for Reallusion TV. However, I did notice while watching under Featured Showcase several videos did not play when selected. The videos are: Page 1: Fireball XL5 “The Space Immigrants” Part 2 by Walter Rupar Page 4: the after hours by George Dargus Page 5: Fireball XL5 “The Space Immigrants” Part 1 by Walter Rupar Page 7: THEY ARE HERE by Neil Tucker The above videos get this error message: “An error occurred. Please try again later.” I checked my videos on YouTube and they play fine. Any ideas as to what’s the problem?

Using the regular generated link: https://youtu.be/FJRY2HfOmDo did not work/was rejected. I guess because of that strange "youtu.be" But using the link from the film itself: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJRY2HfOmDo worked fine...
So, @RL, please check your "code" for accepting videos...

As you probably know the link has been fixed now. :)
Apparently this issue can occur if the supplied URL is not a standard YouTube video link. So do avoid using shortened codes or any other code that isn't a standard link in the format below.

Thank you, Peter and Reallusion staff, for checking into this problem and fixing the links, especially to Fireball XL5 Episode 5 Part 1 and hopefully soon to Fireball XL5 Episode 5 Part 2. I apologize for the bad links on my end. What caused the confusion for me was the URL submission process changed over the past 6 months. Before October 2019, when I submitted a video to Reallusion TV all I did was click the share button in YouTube and copied the URL into the submission form line. This was (is) the same method we use when we submit a video to be watched in the Forums. However, sometime last October an error message began to appear: “The file or link is not appropriate, please check again” on the Reallusion TV submission form when following this method. The submission form kept bombing for nearly a week as I went through a process of trial and error entering URL combinations. When I finally typed https://www.youtube.com/embed/82uo4iXezsU viola! the submission form was accepted, and since the form was accepted, I figured I got it right. However, that was not the case because though my videos were displayed on Reallusion TV an error message occurred when clicking on the video to watch. Anyway, thank you toystorylab and Peter for listing the correct way to submit the URL for Reallusion TV.
