Is there a way to change the name of a character so the changed name shows in the timeline? I have changed the name of some characters and custom saved it under that name but once I open the timeline the name reverts back to the Reallusion's original name!  I need the modified name for easy identification of each character.  thanks

I know a few weeks have passed since your original enquiry but, if you're still looking for a solution, I think you'll find that if you rename a character in the Scene Manager, it will work as you require.

This second screenshot shows two Grim Reapers, with the second one renamed using the above technique.

Yep, that’s the way change the names. Go to scene manager and change the name there. You should be good to go after that.

Apologies, Sefardi, the forum software appeared to accept my pasting the two screenshots.  I guess I must have been seeing locally cached versions while you got a pair of broken links.  I've gone back and edited my first post and replaced the images with conventionally uploaded files - they should show up this time.

In case the Scene Manager isn't immediately familiar to you, check the manual here for additional information.  NB in my first screenshot, I simply double-clicked the name to edit it.

Second that. It was driving me bananas for a year! To be totally honest, one has to admit, this is not the most intuitive place to hide this feature; if I was the PM for this, I would make the developers put it into a right click/context menu where it belongs, but that's a whole different story. In the meantime thanks for a great tip.
