After exporting a CC3 character and then importing the character into Unity this is what they look like:

However, if I open the prefab to make adjustments the character looks considerably better:

Any idea what could be causing this issue where the within the prefab the character looks good, but then once put in a scene it looks horrible?
Also not sure if this is possible, but I'd really like to have my character's look like they do in Character Creator 3, look pretty close in Unity:

Any help at all would be appreciated, would really love to get characters look pretty close to what they do in CC3 more than anything, as I'd love to use other Reallusion products if they will look as good in Unity. Thanks!

I've found that exporting and loading into an HDRP seems to look pretty good, even has very little issues with the hair.
I'm just curious why the difference between the just regular 3D Unity Scene and opening the prefab. It's odd that the hair looks fine and the character's skin looks better in the prefab, but once I go back to the scene it looks bad.

Looks like the issue is caused by your scene's lighting setup which is not enabled in prefab view. Also, if you're exporting characters as game base, I'd highly recommend using this hair shader https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/vfx/shaders/hair-shader-57226 It not only looks good on hair, but it also fixes all the stupid CC issues with eyelashes when used on your character's body. I export my characters using the Merge Textures function and apply the shader to the single material generated by CC, and the characters look almost as good as the multiple texture ones, but they're just one draw call.

For some reason that link is showing broken when I try it.
Thanks I’ll check the lighting and see what I can do.

My bad, for some reason a bunch of random characters got added to the end of the url. Here's the link again: https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/vfx/shaders/hair-shader-57226

In CC3, turn off IBL and Ambient Occlusion in the Visual tab, then activate Auxillary Light and you will see things begin to look crappy like the Unity default—still not as bad, but you get the point; you need to manually add these kind of effects in Unity. You can probably even apply the CC3 IBL to your Unity scene if you want. Once you get your shaders and lighting looking ok, post-processing effects may make your characters look far better than they do in CC3.

Thank you! That actually really helps to know. I’ll look in to what adjustments I can make in Unity.

I have made a guide to help with this. I took a risk and purchased a different hair shader than the one recommended in this thread (turned out ok). It would be nice to see what the one posted here looks like if somebody is willing post a picture.

Since nobody posted a picture of the TAECG hair shader, I bought it to try it out. It's inferior to the RRFREELANCE one I originally purchased. Sorry, no picture, I already uninstaled it.
