I have a project which is finished, but today when i opened it to do the render it gave me the message 'Unable to open file', the annoying thing is that i always save another copy of the project file under a different name which is saved on the same usb drive
I work between to pc's hence the usb drive and this drive has all my files and projects on ( i do back it up but not every day) but unfortunately this project which i had finished was 2 days out of date on my backup drive...I think that maybe the file has been corrupted some how, i always use the eject usb device option in windows before removing the drive.
Anyway my point of this post is to ask if there are any tools which can repair project files or in the very least a program which can unpack the project file so i could maybe salvage the project?
Cheers guysHi...
Sorry to hear you are having problems opening your project.
Sometimes the issue can be that the project has become too large for iClone to open rather than the file actually being corrupt
Please try the following to see if you are able to load the project this way.
1. In iClone 7, open Preferences (CTRL+P) and scroll to the "Real-Time Render Options". Here ensure that "Quality" is set to "Quickmode".
2. Now change "Max Texture Size" is set to 512 x 512.
3. Close iClone down (and any other open applications) and then restart iClone.
4. Now load one of the sample iClone projects like Facial Demo.
5. Finally, try to open your project again.
If it opens now then it would be wise to try and reduce the size of the project to avoid further issues. A good way to do this is to split the project into two or more smaller versions.
