Hi there,

I am doing some paid work and I am really buffled about the fact that 3dxchange doesn't recognize skp files from 2016 up to the newest version? What happend? I need some free sketchup files, but there are no sketch up 2015 versions at all. So I assume the 3dWarehouse implementation in 3dxchange is pretty much useless right now!
Is there a way to solve this problem?

Greetings, Direx

Now in english:

I installed the test version of "Sketchup Pro" and with that version I can save skp back to oldest possible version. I am really pissed of google, because they dicided to delete all models which are older than version 2016. 3DXChange however only accepts models until version 2015, so the 3d warehouse link is useless right now!
Is there any plan to update 3dxchange to change that matter?

Unfortunately, the problem is that the new Sketchup SDK is now 64bit only but 3DXchange 7 remains a 32bit application which makes it incompatible. At this time a 64bit version of 3DXchange is still under discussion but no decision has been made yet as we continue to evaluate other options for importing 3rd party content.

So for now, the solution is to download the older version of Sketchup now called SketchUp Make 2017 from the link below and then save the SKP files in 2015 format. This will allow you to continue to download and convert models from the Trimble Warehouse for use in iClone.

Peter - Here lies the unanswered questions about the present & future of Reallusion 3DXchange program. Even though this program has never been FULLY functional, .SKP files were still working for the most part until NOW. Workarounds are some salvation, & @peter, we thank you for anything that works. Smile
But ultimately, Reallusion owes the people who have bought this program more than this & really deserve the rest of the conversation you have brought into this thread about the present & future of 3D exchange you left out that bar dropping it altogether or buying a new improved version that we don't really see coming. I love Reallusion, & I thank you folks for all the GR8 software we have all enjoyed.
Please give us the real plan for fixing/upgrading 3DXchange. We have been waiting a VERY long time now.
Thanks Peter Crying ~V~

I guess if I were a 'model builder' who wanted to sell content in the Reallusion Marketplace, I'd see the demise of the SU > XChange compatibility a bit of a plus. There's perhaps an increased chance for sales of *ready made* items? (I could be wrong of course - often am) .....

Steve - that really is a fair assessment without any real information from RL. Friends - IN ALL FAIRNESS - I am not on the forum much, so if I missed something new about 3DXchange I pointed out in my reply earlier, apologies. If not, still waiting on some answers on 3DX along with a few thousand others. ~V~

Val >>>  " .... I'm not on the Forum much ......"  me neither these days - though I *try* to poke my head in on a daily basis - lol ...
I take this sort of "news" with a degree of resignation these days - I'm more in "survival mode" - ie "keepin my dreams alive".
Every obstacle that gets in the way of "realising" the goal - is - well - just another obstacle.... (like this one with SU) ....
I guess I'm a die hard .... Got to keep my spirits up, up ,up !!!!! - lol Smile

Hi Rogue

I do understand the frustration but there is nothing more I can tell you at present. The development teams have a 2019 roadmap which we have published on the forum for iClone and Character Creator. Sadly there are no imminent plans for a 64bit version of 3DXchange but rest assured that if a decision is made to develop a new version I will let everyone know.
