I am trying to import a men's suit from Daz into CC3, but I keep getting this error message. "Failed to load character: no suitable setup profile found. Click "More" to check the compatibility list. I am using Genesis 3 as the figure. I even made sure everything was showing (feet, arms, chest, etc.). I don't know how to fix this problem.
Can somebody help me to solve this problem, please? Thanks

If you tell me the exact Daz clothing item I'll be glad to tell you how to do it.

Do you know Kelly if it is possible to recover hidden polygons in Daz ? Because the probleme with your method is that
the  clothed finger doesn't work in cc3 , the transformer is not apply on the fingers...

I can't add anything to custom panels from a daz transformed characters in the new version of cc3.  The add plus sign never turns on to add.

I've never had any luck adding hidden polygons, but I've always been able to work around it.  If you tell me exactly what Daz thing you are trying I'll see if I can make it work (it looks like it's the android parts which I both have and have brought into CC3, but there are a LOT of different ones.  Tell me the exact name and what you are trying and I'll see what the workflow should be).

I would try uninstalling both versions (you have two versions of CC3 -- the "regular" and the pipeline addition) and then reinstalling through the hub.

Thanks Kelly. I bought this 2 packages :

When I tried to rework and apply the fingers weightmap , polygons move away from the bones....

All right, I'm going to eat some breakfast but let me see what I can do after that.
By Kelleytoons - 5 Years Ago
It's pretty simple.  After you get the arms in, just apply Transfer Weights using the gloves preset.  All will then be well.
By Kelleytoons - 5 Years Ago
And here's the whole thing:

By mtakerkart - 5 Years Ago
Wow! Thank you Kelly . Didn't know that applying different weightmap setting are additive ! I thought that it removes the old one to apply a new one.
This thing give me looot of possibility then. Smile
By Kelleytoons - 5 Years Ago
Just to be clear, I don't know (or particularly think) that weight maps are additive.  In this particular case I think the glove weight maps cover the entire arm, and therefore it works.  We'd have to ask one of the devs what's actually going on if you apply mapping to something that has custom mapping, whether it overlays or replaces.

But you reminded me I did buy all these cyber stuff and I need to start using it (before I die -- sigh, so much software, so little time).
By mtakerkart - 5 Years Ago
Hahaha! The problem now is that it converted the cyberArm as a glove and when you want to make the same with the other arm
it says that there is yet glove and it replace it.... Although I didn't find a way to separate left/right gloves in CC3 , moreover you can't put
multiple gloves layer.

Hmmm -- let me work on this (but later -- need to eat again :>Wink.

Okay, you can get this as perfect or as "close" as you want, depending on your patience (I'm not at all patient -- in my advancing years I'm only TOO aware of the little time I have left.  So "close" is good enough and it only takes minutes).

First of all, export both arms from Daz as OBJ.  Then bring in as Accessory in CC3 and (here's where the patient part comes into play) either just apply the Gloves skin weights (which looks fine once you hide the arm mesh) or, if you're anal, edit the mesh first to get it as closely aligned to the arms and hands as possible (even my impatient efforts got it fairly close on one arm, but then I ran out of patience :>Wink.

Note -- depending on your Daz settings you will most likely need to resize the arms greatly (my own required me to resize 2000%).  I'd also advise you to edit the pivot point before you do much positioning, as it will come in at the avatar's default.  Oh, and you will need to put the T-Pose on those cyber arms (I just used the one RL provided for the Genesis figures -- this comes in fairly close to what you need).

Yep , this is the method I did before I saw your video with the Scifi suit.
I did with other metal arms from daz...

Actually, Luke showed me you can use my method even with two arms (or two shoes).  Here's the video:

WOW! So simple....  Thanks to you and Luke. Very usefull for asymtetric arm's prop.

And thanks to you for pushing me to try and solve this issue.  Now I can use those cyber parts!

Glad to see I'm not the only one struggling with this problem. I'm using a gen2 male with hair. JUST HAIR, because I need the specific hair style. I don't want to get on a soap box here but the whole importing issue is just nuts for such an expensive as well as high end program that boasts about its compatibility. Somebody please tell me what i am doing wrong here because I am at a loss. I've made several successful imports in the past though with no memory of what paths i took to get them there short of obj workarounds which i refuse to do with hair because I'm not sure how it will effect the physics of the hair, and purchasing hair for CC is kind of budget thing on top of the fact I've already accumulated massive amounts of hair styles for both daz and poser...smh. anyway on with the screen shots i guess.https://forum.reallusion.com/uploads/images/08b96ae0-9e12-40a7-b41c-f592.pnghttps://forum.reallusion.com/uploads/images/da4935c9-a090-465a-8c3f-210d.pnghttps://forum.reallusion.com/uploads/images/325697b6-4271-4e68-a3c4-f33f.png

Well, there are at least a couple of things wrong.

First of all, don't checkmark "Embed Textures" on your export.

The problem of it not recognizing a Gen figure is most likely caused by the hair hiding some of the gen part.  I cover this in a LOT of tutorials but for now just do this -- drag ANOTHER Gen figure over into your scene and export.  When it comes into CC3 just uncheck that secondary figure.  You should be fine.

(If for any reason you have further problems tell me EXACTLY what hair/clothing you're having an issue with and I'll be glad to help more specifically).

This has been a very helpful and illuminating thread. I'm still in the trial phase, and was very hopeful that this software would help streamline a process, however it seems that it will not.
I use Poser, not Daz. The literature for CC3 says you can import from Poser (M4 and V4) but every attempt has failed.
The fact that, even from Daz, the response is to ask exactly what clothes and characters are involved says that there is not a consistent workflow. It will clearly NOT streamline anything that I can already do, for free, in Blender.
So thank you, I will not be wasting my money.
