Lock Bones problem

Hi Reallusion,

I'm having a little trouble trying to get the lock bones on the feet to work properly.
If I lock the Feet and then transform the Hip Bone everything seems to work fine. If I try and rotate the Hip Bone though the feet just follow along - leaving the ground essentially.
Also, if I lock the Feet Bones at one frame and animate forward a little I keep finding that the feet are no longer locked.
I think I must be missing something pretty basic here. Any advice most welcome.

Best, Currie.

Not sure about the problem.
Perhaps you might want to post the example here.

Hi Currie

If you manipulate any part body marked T, R or TR these will always override the Pins because they have higher priority.

Thanks for both replys.

To clarify, I'm talking about animating using the 2D Motion Key Editor interface - where I apply the specific locks (?). After locking the feet in here, when I try to rotate the hips the whole character rotates as though it were acting like the Root.
Also, once I've locked the feet if I open any other interface and then return to the 2D Motion Key Editor the locks have to be re-activated. Can the feet not stay locked until I say otherwise?

I'm not sure what T, R and TR refer to in the 2D Motion Key Editor interface.

Unfortunately I cannot post a scene through because it involves WIP on a client job. I have tried importing a standard CTA G3 character though and have found the same problem.

Many thanks for your responses.

Thanks for letting us know you are using the 2D Motion Key Editor. The reference to T, R and TR relate to the 3D Motion Key Editor so obviously not applicable here.

However, the same principles apply with the 2D Motion Key Editor. Rotating the Hip bone will always override all other settings and your entire character will rotate regardless of the lock state.

Regarding your second question, unfortunately closing the 2D Motion Key Editor panel will reset the lock states. There isn't an option to retain the settings.
