Break Motion takes to long or crashes iclone

Hi.

I am having an issue with breaking a motion.
Normally I convert motions from vmd to iclone and some motions have some issues (sometimes the motion rotates 180 degrees and the avatar will be upside down). To correct some of them I have to break the motion and correct by removing the frames (usually 10). But, after IClone 7.01, breaking start taking too long and sometimes I have to wait more than 10 minutes or normally it crashes iclone.

Anyone has the same problem?

Thanks.

It's been a while, but to speed things up create a keyframe just before and or after the break point (I don't quite remember which).

For some reason after the break point iClone creates a keyframe for each frame, which is why it takes so long. Inserting keyframes at the break point prevents that.

EDIT: Fixed several typos... It's getting worse...:crying:

Ani's trick helped me out a lot previous to the last two versions but... dare I say it?.. since the last 7.3 and now 7.4 I find the break to be MUCH faster (even acceptable on even long clips, whereas it used to take forever).

So I don't know.

Hi.

Thanks for the tips. I will try that.
And forget about typos (I usually do a lot myself :-)) as I did understand the idea. :-)

Greets.

Hi Kelley.

I will try Ani's trick as it starts to annoy me.

Keep us posted on your success (or lack of it).

Some update.

I tried to do the keyframe trick but no success.

First, I don't see any key frames created after the break. It takes ages to break, specially for long motions even if I add a key after or before where the break occurs. Maybe I am doing something wrong...
Second, the next break also takes a long time.
Third, it takes longer times if the break is closer to the start of the motion.

It would be nice if breaking was just like in older versions...

I've been breaking motions too, so that I can sample the motions and modify
If the motion is quite long, I find it does take several minutes before it will break.
My computer hasn't crashed yet, but it does take a lot of time on the longer motions

Yeah.

I also use this function many times. I would like to see the same behaviour that version 7.01 had.
