Until the Appearance Editor is available you will have to edit the head texture. The pinkish part is actual part of the eye anatomy:

A little bit of red is natural, that looks blocky or like an infection.

So is the issue CC 3 was released (rushed) before the Appearance Editor was ready?

Reminds me of a car that runs, but you can't turn or stop.

For me it's barely noticeable on the default character. It's really the responsibility of whomever created the textures to get it right.

Which hair is that? I always have trouble finding short hair and crew cut hair.

I believe that is the Toko Motion Hair Pack, the Short Scalp or something like that.
