I've been working on a plugin script to generate the profile.ini and collect maps to a selected folder. It's coming along well with G8 and G3 figures (my primary use) and I am considering testing and supporting older generations though I don't use those much myself. I'm curious, is there any interest in a paid tool to generate profiles and collect the in-use maps to a folder for consumption by CC3? Currently, the tool does the following from within Daz Studio: * Collects all maps to the user selected folder * Generates the profile.ini in the user selected folder * Automatically inverts roughness maps during the map collection process.
Thanks in advance for your feedback.

More choice were welcome. How about non-character map collecting? Such a environment, prop, robot & something?

Mine also does that, at least for anything out of Daz.

Nice plugin. Not a Blender user myself so I have developed something to allow me to go directly from Daz to CC3.

Thanks for the reply and the idea. I'll keep it in mind when I'm further along.

I'd be interested of something that works right out of Daz. I tend to use the earlier Genesis characters tho'. 1,2 and 3.

Sounds like a good idea to do it on the DAZ side. Please include G1-3 support, of course.
Off-topic: i like KT's Blender add-on, not only because it's free.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.
I've never released in the Daz store. I hear it can take some time to get through the process and I still have many things to complete (older character support, UI polishing, associated testing, to name a few) before I'd feel comfortable submitting.it to them. So, a release isn't imminent based on that alone and add the fact this is a work of passion I'm doing in my spare time.
@3Dtester - KT's Blender plugin is really slick. That he created something with such complexity and was so gracious to release it freely to the community is just awesome. I like the videos and how cheerful he sounds, too! :-)

I am not a blender user either... I think if there was an option to do it within Daz or CC3 would be best. I'm not really sure how much money you would be making on the plug-in and like Kellytoons… the idea of everyone using your plug-in and the notoriety is probably worth more than making a couple of hundred dollars, don't you think.

CC3 now pretty much does this -- it's not perfect, but it's damn close so there's not much need even to run my plugin anymore (I still do but that's just me).

You have a weird setup there -- it looks (at least at first glance) that you are trying to apply Transformer to a CC1 character, which it is not designed to do (it's for Genesis and Hivewire characters). That would explain the errors you are getting. Or perhaps I just don't understand what it is you have setup there.
Let me know what character you are trying to import and what outfits and I'll see what I can do (no sense trying my routine if we can't get you at least straightened out here).
Edit: I think you're trying the Wild Wind Outfit for Gen 8, an outfit so new even *I* don't have it (I usually wait until things go on sale, or at least a few weeks after they are out). But I'd still like to know what character you are trying this with and I can try her with another outfit to see what's going on.

I'm sorry BUT I'm just not getting this at all, following the instaructions to the letter
From this in Daz:

To this in CC3:

I movered the legging forward to be PC correct, so they are not where they imported to and the skirt just did not make it at all.

@Kellytoons Ellandra is the base Gen 8 female with Luthril as the character form and your right Wild Winds Outfit
Opps oh and to be clear I open CC3 and click transform and do NOT save the base character which is trhe CC3 starter character that loads

In DAZ you do not have Merge Clothing into Figure Skeleton selected, so the clothing will not move with the body.

Thank you Animagic I missed that, I went back to the video and he did not mention that so I missed it, trying again

It seems that in this case where Daz loads items parented to other items and not the character, eg the skirt was parented to the leggings so it layed above and the bag parented to the belt for the same reason, they get dropped when Daz exports them and are NOT exported. Tho that does not explain the lack of options limiting it to a choice of hair or Accessory in the drop down
Edit:
I'm not sure if this is correct or not but I exported a copy as an A (default Gen-8 pose) and loaded it into 3D Max and I se there no skining on the clothing so Dac 3D is not skinning this outfit it would seem
|
|
By Kelleytoons - 7 Years Ago

Yeah, as Ani mentions your problem is in Daz, not CC3.
When you load in separate items from an outfit (as opposed to loading the entire outfit all at once) you MUST always have the base figure selected first. Daz won't correctly either skin or otherwise parent those items, and CC3 has no way of adjusting. Since I don't have this particular outfit I cannot try it for you, but I'm sure CC3 will work correctly when you get it correct in Daz.
For that outfit there ought to be a "load outfit" option -- I've never seen a Daz one that didn't have that. With the base figure in Daz selected, use THAT instead and import into CC3 and all should be well. Otherwise you'll need to try a different outfit that I might have in order to help you (as I said, I have nearly everything about a month after it's released -- so something from a month ago would be fine).

When your right @Kellyrtoons your right, for some reason Daz is NOT skinning the clothing so it's not being seen correctly

I wish I had that outfit so I could test it for you. Perhaps next month (I've bought enough for this one, unfortunately).
You might want to try with a different, older one where I *can* be of more help and revisit this one later.

I have a similar issue with the Goldberry Gen-3 outfit, for some reason Daz does NOT seem to be skinning the clothing and holding the pose at export, the clothing has no skin modifier on them when I look in Max
BTW speaking of Gen-3, do I need apply the pose to them or is the Gen-3 T pose OK
|
|
By Kelleytoons - 7 Years Ago

The Goldberry outfit works fine for me -- the two "jewels" (one at the bodice and the other at the back) aren't bound properly, but it's easy to fix (you just position them correctly and apply transfer weights and all is well). Oh, and I DO apply the T-pose as it only takes a moment and does adjust the legs better.
You're telling me when you bring it into CC3 it won't pose properly? That's odd -- it might be how you are exporting (make sure you have "Merge Clothing" checkmarked). Perhaps you could share a screenshot of what it looks like when you import into CC3:

Could this be because I most times (out of habbit I guess) load a character rather than the default Genisis body?

No, I've imported MANY characters with clothing in. And, indeed, I imported the one you used. Something odd is going on -- if you could capture a video showing your workflow that would be helpful. Otherwise we could try some sort of screen sharing process if we can match up the times (I'm here in the US on EST, but I do stay up late and get up early).

Hopefuly this is not to painful for you guys I did a mind breaking video. I did not how ever export the model on video because you'd die of ole age waiting, it was long enough waiting for CC3 (if I had a clue i'd have openend it and mimimized it) https://www.dropbox.com/s/ffxln6pveo8mdfm/2018-11-08%2017-34-56.mp4?dl=0

Oh BTW I'm +12 hours GMT in New Zealand

Unfortunately, you don't show the part I really need to see, which is how you actually load the outfit, sandals and hair in Daz. I suspect that's where you're going wrong -- it doesn't look like you have the hair and sandals attached properly (we should see those in the rollout and we don't).
My guess is you are not selecting the base character for each load of the item -- you need to redo this each time unless you simply click a "one-click outfit" sort of Daz clothing. So it goes like this -- in Daz, in that project scene tab, you select the Gen 8 figure. Then you go over and click a clothing item. Then you select the figure base again, and select the next one.
I can make my own video for you to see how this works but you'll need to tell me what sandals you are using, and what hair.

I this case I selected the Outfit as a whole to do both apply it and to add the iRay materials, for some reason the gems and beeds go white when I use MDL mats with this outfit, it's the AK teardrop hair I used with the circlet/head piece

Looking at your video I been putting the CC3 T pose on after I got it all together is that maybe not the right way?
Oh also should I be using 3Deleght and not iRay materials?
Edit:
How you guy's say it? Yeeeee Haaaaaa I finaly got the Goldberry in, I put the T pose on first after creating the Character. the other thing I did not sure if it matters BUT I loaded a Gen-03 base character and added the character features after, what I had be doing was just going straight for the character. So this time loading the base Gen-03 then adding Gwennilli's featuers and adjusting them to get what I was after them adding the CC3 T pose, THEN adding the clothing and making sure my export setting where the same as in that video even the animation selection even tho I had applied not, guess morphs could be seen as animation by the tools, don't know Gen-08 to try after I get a number of these done so I have it down pat
Thank you so very very much to @Kelleytoons for hanging in there and sticking with me all this time, you are Gem Sir, "Distinguished Member" does not do you justice mate

You don't have to do things separately -- I can show you in a video -- but you DO have to be careful how you actually load characters into Daz. You can go to the People/Genesis 8 Female/Characters folder, but not down INSIDE the folder, and you'll find the characters all listed on the right. If you click any one of them it will load correctly and after applying a T-pose you'll be fine to apply clothing.
But as long as you have a workflow you can live with that's fine. And I'm always glad to help -- I've been loading in so many of these characters and clothing I figure I might as well help others avoid all the issues I've had to face. But thanks for the kind words.
