Version: v3.01.1016.1 just installed. Importing fbx's with transformer that worked fine in the initial release now immediately crash cc3. How exactly do I save an fbx for the new release? Which version fbx - has it changed? -  which export options and what exactly are the  morph export rules? Do I have to go back and resave all daz /fbx's. Can I revert - and how to the original cc3 release which worked fine? Right now I'm hosed.

Hello, danmiller the ini file method is a texture profile located in cc3 template DazResource folder you can create your own profiles that take care of missing textures or any texture setup you want. I hope this helps.

Well, thank you...Blush One is supposed to be notified when an issue is implemented or resolved...Unsure It's still listed as Active...Crazy


a) A big "Yay" for it being implemented
b) An exasperated "Sigh" for it still being listed as "Active"
c) Reallusion really wants us to use Feedback Tracker.  Fine.  But then they need to do their part.  Hire an intern or someone to do the basic maintenance of the issues.
d) I still worry about "old" issues not getting carried forward to the new version(s) when the reported issues, both bug reports and enhancement suggestions, are still relevant.

This may be the wrong place to ask but I'm getting this error when trying to export a head to CC3 from CT8.  What am I doing wrong?

Myself and if I recall a few others have had this problem since waaaaaaaaaaaaaay back.
Workaround is to save the head and not export. Then open CC3 and drag the head in onto your character.

What is an .ini method? The manual doesn't mention anything about an .ini method.

Is there a fix for the outdated cc1 morphs issue? I get the prompt to update every time I open CC3. Starting to get pretty annoying. Thanks.

I hope that suggestions from CC2 are not being ignored. A very important one for me is the possibility to have two different texture for left and right eyes.

Once the Appearance Editor becomes available in CC3 (for CC3 characters), it would be good to have that option added.

Hi Kevin, it does help. Now I know where they are located:

\Template\Character Creator 3 Template\DazResource\TextureProfile

Is there a reference for how to apply them? A Google search shows .ini coming up a lot but nothing in the documentation that I see. Now I get the concept that they are texture profiles but I wouldn't know what to do with it. When I open one up it has a slew of settings several pages long, so I'm not sure how I would just intuitively know what to do with it. I'm seeing a bunch of time wading through various videos to try and figure it out. Seems odd it wouldn't be in the documentation.

I appreciate you taking the time to show me where they are at. I was watching a video awhile back and there was a mention of an .ini file and I had no idea even where it was so thanks.

This is hugely important, we need more people to push for this. Someone needs to create a feedback tracker about it.

New Features Added in Character Creator v3.01:

Transformer:
  1. Added: Optimize the texture import process of Transformer, including auto texture mapping, material settings, texture reversing, etc.
    *If the texture mapping incorrect, you can use the .ini method to correct it.

  2. Enhance the Transforming results on Michael 4 and Victoria 4 characters by popping up a selection window for correct UV mapping.

Bugs Fixed in Character Creator v3.01:

Transformer
  1. Fixed: Eye bones displaced when transforming G2 avatar (FT#5171, 5181)
  2. Fixed: Specular texture is not correctly converted to roughness texture
Not fixed yet, but targeted to be fixed in this patch:
  1. Fixed: Transformer crashes if any roughness maps on any of the eye parts in the ini file (FT#5210)
Export:
  1. Fixed: CC3 Export to Unity3D Fails with error "Fbx export failed." (FT#5207)
  2. Fixed: CC3 Export FBX & Export to Sketchfab - posed only in a T-pose (FT#5188)

As has been mentioned, heads from CT8 are not compatible with CC3 characters. You have to start out with a CC1 character and then convert to CC3. Also, as Duchess mentions, you need to drag and drop the head on the character.
