Would there be an advantage in using the "Light Studio" package in lighting actual indoor and outdoor animated scenes? AND what would be the advantage of purchasing the Dawn & Dusk Starter Combo if one is not interested in "exporting" ?

Ah, sorry, didn't realize it was for Iray (which I have ZERO interest in and thus can't really help you or comment on it despite owning Light Studio).
I guess it will be up to others (one thing for sure -- it ain't for animation. If you want beautiful stills, have fun!)

Let's assume "good lighting" adds value to your image, whether you render in CC3 or Iray. I think the evaluation and "review" would be valuable for both camps.

Thank you Kelleytoons for taking a look.
justaviking, I'm more interested in using the lights in animation, since they are already setup for difference "situations" and I was thinking that it may save time in setting the light for a scene! Thank you for your input.
Maybe the question should have been "Is Light Studio installed in CC3 and iClone or just CC3?"

I don't see it anywhere in iClone (but maybe I'm not looking in the right place).
I have a "Light Room" entry in Templates, but it doesn't seem to contain anything and I don't even know if it is new after I installed the Light Studio.

I have a "Light Room" entry in Templates, but it doesn't seem to contain anything and I don't even know if it is new after I installed the Light Studio.
I also have "LightRoom" folder in Templates, which is empty, and I have not purchased Light Studio. Maybe there may be an update down the line!

The Light Studio pack consists of basically a collection of Atmospheres and IBL images. The Atmospheres have an IBL image and a Light added. I really don't know if any of it would be useful for animation, but it is great for producing pretty pictures. :D:smooooth::cool:

I guess I'll ask Support the same question. How if it is basically a collection of Atmospheres and IBL images,I would imagine the pack should be useful in animations also.

Light Studio is a collection of Iray light pre-sets for CC3 and is not really useful in iClone for now as Iray isn't coming until later in the year.
Dawn and Dusk are two new high quality characters that come with their own clothing, hair, morphs etc. Both characters can be sent to iClone and animated just like any other CC character. So if you are looking for some new high quality characters and clothing for CC3 and iClone then these starter packs are ideal.

I purchased iRay plugin but did not play with it, nor CC3 due to 7.3 bugs...
When i purchase "Light Studio" will it be available/usable in iClone when iRay is integrated in iClone?

I just bought "Light studio". I didn't know it was for iClone. I thought the lighting of a scene was mainly done in iClone.
I too would like to know if it's good for animation and whether or not I can use it in iclone later. If it isn't, I might as well return it.
And why isn't there any kind of tutorial showing how to use it?

I did purchase Light Studio and it did install items in the Stage Template and Prop folders, however, I have been working with iClone very much recently.
Hopefully, someone will be better able to answer our question!
