Because I noticed how badly Pinhead's face animated in our opening video, we decided that with all the features of Iclone 4 with face puppeteering, etc., Pinhead could use a little makeover.  We always hate to change him, because we want him to retain his sort of innocent nerdiness, so with Joe redrawing him to have a nose and lips, and me remapping him in Iclone 4, this is what we came up with.  I've used the G3 body, which for some reason makes it hard to keep his two legs closer together than in G2, but I did my best.  I also made the belt part of the cloth, however, the belt will still be supplied as an accessory, as I assume some of you may re-dress him in his new career garb, whatever that might be.

Anyhow, here he is and I'll pass him over to Brian now to upload for those that wish to use him.

Remember, if you prefer to keep the G2 body, you can just change the head.

BTW...if anyone downloaded the Iclone 4 G3 Pinhead and had issues with watermark, he has been replaced and should be fine now. :)

I just wanted to give you an update on "All Things Pinhead".

1)  Please take a look at the "Join Us" page, there are quite a few signatures added and we would love it if anyone who is thinking of participating would sign the page at www.pinheadhq.com - Please consider participating, it's lots of fun.

2)  If anyone needs the voice of Pinhead for their movie clip, please send me a PM and I can get the lines done for you.

3)  We announced the prize for participating would be in the form of a draw and the prize is "Sonicfire Pro" Scoring Edition by Smartsound which is worth $99.  Along with this prize comes 2 CD's of their layered music which sell for $99 each.   I wanted to point out a few things about this program and the CD's.  They sell both stereo and layered music.  The layered music allows you to select a "Mood" and change it up along the score.  Additionally, you can stretch the music or shrink it by pulling and pushing on the time line.  You can also alter the "tempo" and you can manually add or take away instruments.  Therefore, you can have the right musical emphasis at the right time.

Altho the music is expensive, they often have sales which is when I buy.  For example, I just got 3 layered CD's for $89.99.  I usually select good storytelling music but there are plenty of other categories.

Lastly - for those that use the latest version of Video Studio, you can use this music right inside Video Studio and, with the latest version, you can also select the mood right withing Video Studio.   Pinnacle Studio supported Smartsound up until version 12 but they have now dropped it.

4)  So far there have been 2 clips submitted in the 2D division by RogRead.  I know of quite a few people working away so it looks like we will have great participation. :)

I've decided to make all my own sets (they are not great) - I looked around on google warehouse, but after taking stuckon3d's modelling classes, there are little things I've learned that speed up the process.  So, I've got a few extra characters costumes designed, some of the sets and then I'll get going on my story.

There are two weeks left folks.  And it's so much fun.  Not to mention neat prizes.  So get to work people - I'm counting on you regulars anyway to participate.

Cut-Off date is 2nd of May. What usually happens is that we have a week to cast our votes & then possibly a further week for the Committee to prepare the Golden Pinhead Awards Ceremony. Don't know if you can finish it by say next W/E. If you can, it may be that the Committee would make an exception in your case. But I don't know.  Otherwise - Yes, it would be great to see it as a Fun Clip:).

BTW - I expect Alley will drop-by & see your Post anyway.

Just wanted to let you know that there was one more Iclone entry.  Ken White of TMU fame attempted to upload it on the Pinhead uploader before the deadline.  As many of you know, our uploader is very fickle and he contacted me on Monday about this.  The film premiered on TMU last night, and we do have his entry, however, the wmv he supplied is extremely high qualiaty and will only play in Windows 7 at the moment so we can't post it.

We are trying to see if we can convert it for him or get him to convert it to a different type of wmv.  Anyhow, I wanted to explain if you suddenly see a new entry posted in the next day or so.

It's not on TMU yet either, so I can't link it from there.  Will keep you posted.

I was overwhelmed by the results and I really want to thanks everybody for their contribution and fantastic response and support.

You all made fantastic Videos and winning this contest for me is a great honor.

Well the Pinhead Awards have been running since Friday, so I thought this would be a good time to congratulate the winners and to thank everyone who participated.  The project was a lot of fun, and the entries were very creative.

Judging was based not only on technical skill, but on the story itself.  We are always encouraging Pinhead participants to tell us a good story.

I would like to again thank Reallusion, Pinnacle, Prodad, Smartsound and Jeff Naylor for the prize donations.  I have sent all the winner’s info out to each company, and will let you know how your prize is being sent out, either by mail or by download link.

So, first the prize winners……

1^st Place:   Bigboss for “The Pinhead Haunting Story” – This was actually a double play

                  On Words, as it was as if Pinhead was being haunted by nightmares but it also

                  Played on the “Head Hunting” theme.  Very creative and wonderful animation

                  And music.

                  Bigboss will receive Pinnacle Studio 14 Ultimate and the training book/dvd.

2^nd Place:  Wolfzone for “Pinhead Meets The Maker” – Technical execution was fantastic

                  And the theme of using Pinhead for a “test dummy” was very funny.  Great

                  Narration as well.

                  Wolfzone will receive Prodad’s “Vitascene”, program.

3^rd Place:   This was a tie.  First Ken White for Entry Level – we found the creativity in

                  This very different than our usual entries.  With Ken’s background with TMU

                  And the emphasis on story telling, we found his entry very inspiring.

                  Complete with the clock with no hands and the gurbled voice showing

                  Pinhead’s inability to listen, therefore not realizing what he was being hired

                  For, along with special guest appearance of Dulci (who knew) was quite

                  Enjoyable.  Facial expressions were used very effectively.

3^rd Place:   Laura aka ahroo.  Laura’s entry was done with Animafactory.  She did a

   Tie          fantastic job of  showing Pinhead struggling with what he could do for

                  A living.  As each occupation he imagined happily sprung to mind, just

                  As quickly he realized the downside.  But he won the lottery and was off

                  To save the world.

                  Laura will receive Iclone 4 Pro.   As I’ve seen what she can do with both

                  Animafactory and Toon Boon, it will be exciting to see how she does

                  With Iclone.

4^th Place:    Goes to Rog Read for “Just the Job 2”.  Rog did 3 variations of Pinhead’s

                Journey seeking employment.  His drawings and use of Crazy Talk were

                Very well done and with his unique sense of humor, he has us well entertained.

5^th Place:  This goes to Raven to Angel for “A Lonely End”.  The music really fit the

                 Story and helped us to feel the pain that Pinhead was feeling throughout.  We

                 Were grateful to discover that in the end, Pinhead had become an actor and

                 Had found employment afterall.  When I first heard the gentle singing voice

                 in the background, I thought it was Raven singing, and the credits seems to

                 confirm that.  Lovely voice.

                 Raven will receive Pro Tools Recording Studio from Pinnacle.

6^th Place:   This goes to Animetechnica for “Monkey Business”.    We loved the humor in

                  This and the rap song, just for Pinhead.  The highlight for me was hearing

                  Gabe’s narration and saying “Listen to my tale dog!”.  Animation as usual

                  Was flawless with some great voice acting and cool street scene.

                  Gabe will receive Pro Tools Vocal Studio from Pinnacle.

7^th Place:  This goes to sjones for “Jest the Job”.  I think we just adored Pinhead

                 In a “Jestor’s Suit”.    Not so sure about his dancing though.  Well done.

8^th Place:  This goes to Colour for “Pinhead Stinks”.  Poor Pinhead, try as he might
