Hi everybody, I'm confused about CC3 coming soon and have some questions:
1.) Is the Update from CC2 to CC3 for iClone 7 Users for free? 2.) If not: a) which is the difference between the CC3 in the pre-sale (costs $129,-) and the CC3, which will appear soon for $199,-? b) does the price for CC3 include the additional package for detailed modification of the character features or must it also be purchased separatly (as in present for CC2) ?
If anyone knows for sure, please let me know and thank you in advance for your help.

Yes, CC3 is free for iClone7 users.
The one that costs $129 (and later, $199) is CC3 Pipeline.
To see the difference between CC3 and CC3 Pipeline, look here: https://www.reallusion.com/iclone/3d-character.html#edition-comparison

Ok, but what you will need to pay for tbe pipeline one if you already buy iclone 7 pipeline edition? It was not fair to repay the full price if you want the pipepline one!

Hi Marcus ... If you already have iClone pipeline edition, yes - you can do things like *Export out* both your Characters and animation. Export options being .obj or .FBX (and iAvatar) And sure, you could just create your characters in the Character Creator 'free' version.
However, the paid 'Pipeline' version of Character Creator has additional benefits/features. It can generate LOD (level of detail) for producing lower poly count versions of your avatar - (ideal for use in game engines). - So "re-meshing" is possible. It can import DAZ characters directly in .FBX format (you can't in the free version). It can export Characters directly out as .obj and .FBX (and iAvatar) (without needing to go via 3DXChange) (*not animation though). It can link to Z-Brush via the Go-Z feature.
There may be other benefits - maybe others can add-to and double check my accuracy on his ....
There's a detailed comparison chart here: https://www.reallusion.com/iclone/3d-character.html#edition-comparison

Hi Marcus...
Character Creator 3 Pipeline is available for the pre-order special price of $129. The full price is $199 so you are saving $60. As an iClone 7 user already you will be entitled to "Character Creator 3 for iClone" FREE and only need to purchase the Pipeline edition if you require the extra features. Please compare the differences below.

Hi Peter, many thanks for the precise info. But one last question: Does the CC3 pipeline edition include also the additional pack for more detailed adjustments of the avatar features or those also must be then purchased extra? At present the Essential Morphs & Skin package with advanced body morphs costs $ 69,- (for members) for CC2.

Additional packs will be extra. But if you already have them for CC2, then there will be a free update for CC3.

The CC3 Pipeline version does not include the Morphs pack. However there is a bundle offer here for CC3 and the complete Essential Morphs Export pack for $229.00. This is well worth getting, not only because the Pack is really essential to have but also due to the fact that purchasing the Essentials combi Export pack alone costs $299.00 at the moment.

Hi Maya
Just to clarify what others have already said, Character Creator 3 Pipeline does not come with the CC Essentials bundle. However if you already own CC Essentials (morph and/or clothing) for CC2, then you will get a FREE upgrade to the CC3 version.

I wish there was a 'package deal' for CC3 combined with 'Complete Essential Morphs iContent' for say $199 --- for those who don't need the $229 'Export' featured bundle - but then I guess there's a practical limit on how many bundles can be offered ....
So failing that, I'm guessing it's really only the 'skin morphing' that would be a *must buy* ($69), and one could possibly do without the 'essential clothing and fabric'? - Would that be correct? - I haven't used my copy of CC2 (thought I'd wait for my pre-purchased CC3 Pipeline to come out). So I'm not sure what packs are *really* needed.

There is a lot of clothing content available in the Market Place that uses the Essentials Clothing Pack items as a Base, thus making this a "must have". However it is also possible to get individual clothing bases on a "need to have" basis from the Market Place using DA Points.
Decisions, decisions, decisions. :pinch:
