I am interested in purchasing the Pipeline version but I am hearing that a new version may be coming soon.  I do not want to purchase the current 3.3 version knowing that a new version is coming out soon and having to pay for an upgrade.  What is the upgrade policy from  3.3 to the upcoming version?  TIA

Hi... Regarding our upgrade policy, for new product versions the normal process is to launch a pre-order campaign a couple of  months before the release. Once the pre-order campaign is under way you will normally get the current version when purchasing and a FREE upgrade to the new version. If you purchase outside of the pre-order campaign you will be able upgrade to the new version for a discounted price.

Sadly I can't discuss future product release dates but as you can see there is no pre-order campaign running for Crazytalk Animator 4. Our next big product release will be Character Creator 3.

Peter,
Is there an upgrade path to CA4, or just a re-purchase with discount?
The email I received doesn't have an upgrade link....just what appears to be a discount on re-purchase.
Thx,

Existing CrazyTalk Animator 3 customers can upgrade to Cartoon Animator 4 for a special discounted price. You can find the upgrade price on the page below (if you are logged into your Reallusion account).

https://www.reallusion.com/store/product.html?l=1&p=cta

Once you have purchased the upgrade you can install Cartoon Animator 4 and still have CrazyTalk Animator 3 installed as well if you wish. Installing CTA4 doesn't overwrite version CTA3.

I own cta3 since it was released, and I'm dying to upgrade to CA4 but I show no upgrade link. As an existing member how do I upgrade? I don't see any link for upgrading either. Not on the page, nor in my account.

Please first make sure you are logged into the same Reallusion account where your current CTA3 is registered. Then visit the page below. You should see the upgrade price.

If you are still not sure you are seeing the correct price, please let us know which price you see in the Store. Thanks.

Thank you for your response. I'm signed on, but I fear when I press the link you mentioned i.e. https://www.reallusion.com/store/product.html?l=1&p=cta I only get a blanck page with a message that states "There is no data to display, please check product setting." No option to upgrade. Just an error message.

The link is working fine for me in Microsoft Edge and Chrome. Which browser are you using?

You can also get to the purchase page by clicking the "Buy" link on the product page below. Do also try refreshing the page if it doesn't display the first time.

I'm using Internet Explorer, and I get a similar result when pressing the buy button. It just says "There is no data to display, please check product setting."

Am I right in seeing this is an "early bird special" and not an "upgrade price"? Is the upgrade price the same as the special?
By wwtravis - 5 Years Ago
Ditto. I only see Early Bird pricing, but nothing indicating special upgrade pricing. Clarification would be helpful. Thanks.

OK, I see there is special pricing, at least dependent on whether you log in or not (I own CTA3). Early bird pricing is substantially higher without logging in, it's just not labeled as upgrade pricing.

Internet Explorer is now outdated and no longer being updated by Microsoft. You should try with a more modern browser like Edge or Chrome.

If you are an existing customer you will see two different prices in the Store depending on if you are logged into your account or not. The lowest price will be the upgrade price which will appear when you are logged into your account. If you log out of your account and check the Store you will see the prices are higher even though they are still reduced for new customers in the Early Bird sale.

I have the serial # for CTA4 and I registered it, but when I hit the download link I get this:

So that means new customers buying in the Early Bird sale are getting CA4 at the same price existing customers are paying for upgrading??

That's not what Peter said. The price for new customers is reduced, but the price for existing customers is lower than that.

I have to admit to being confused about the pricing too. The email I received gave the Early Bird Special price of Cartoon Animator 4 Pipeline as $149. When I log in to my account to get the upgrade price it is also $149. So my questions are; Is the price higher than that for first time buyers using the Early Bird Special and what will the upgrade price be after 31st May. Thank you in advance for any clarification.

Are you completely sure about that?  Have a look at this add on.  There are other examples.

The price for a new customer buying for the first time is $199. As an existing customer, the upgrade/member price is $149.

That's a content pack. Upgrade prices normally only affect software, not content.
