My best results come from not using a profile image but only a very straight on image. You can always adjust the profile yourself later with tools in CC, but the CT8 doesn't do a very good job using both images unless they are VERY carefully made (shot at the same time, under the same lighting conditions, with experienced photogs using the right lenses).
And make sure your front facing image is also carefully constructed -- best if you can shoot it yourself, but if not make sure it's very evenly lit and shot from dead on straight (no tilting like you would normally get on a "glamor" shot or some such. The head itself can be rotated, as you can always rotate it in Photoshop or some such prior, but it can't be angled away from the lens of the camera (so think "mug shot" like the police make).
