How do you mask out part of a character's motion?

Sorry for the newbie question, but in CTA3 how do you mask out part of a motion? Let's say it's a preset standing motion but I want the character to perform it seated.

Check out the Motion Puppet tool. This is an old tutorial for Iclone 5 but it still works pretty much the same way in Iclone 7. It gives you a way to combine different motions by masking out body parts.

Sorry, you did clearly state CTA in your post... it came up for some reason  as I was browsing through some Iclone stuff and I didn't read it closely enough.

When you apply a preset motion clip you can't choose which body parts are affected by the motion. However you can remove body parts after the motion clip has been applied.
