Hello everyone,
It's been a few months since I did not have time to develop things for the marketplace, but I come back with some ideas and the desire to make things much more often!
I open this new thread that will allow me to show you the projects in progress. Once they will be finished, I'll post an ad in the appropriate section with the latest visuals.
To begin, it seems that the apocalypse is coming soon! So I told myself that it would take a lot of bandages to treat everyone!
It will be a pack of 33 bandages intended for different parts of the body (man or woman). Each is a CC garment. It is therefore quite possible to assemble them as you want but also to add to use them with real clothes. It will just be necessary to pay attention to the order and the numbering of the layers (I was obliged to distribute my bandages on a dozen layers). It will also think to use the "run collision" if you use several at the same time, because I made them closer to the skin.
Left and right parts are available separately or in assemblies. The two sides are always different.
All elements have a UV unfolding that allows easy use of the appearance editor. So you will be able to addadd stain of blood and soiling as much as you like!
The textures are in PBR, but that does not have much interest because the matter is matte. In any case I can tell you that it is a sacred battle to wrap all these bandages!

Thank you for your enthusiasm guys! To tell the truth I was surprised to not find this kind of element in the marketplace... considering what we make do to our characters, it is astonishing that there is no more wounded !!! :):blink:

But you forgot the hands and fingers! : )
ps: Next you should do casts (arms & legs cast, etc..) ;) (tip: use displacement textures instead of 3d cast models so it will still be clothes instead of becoming accessory).

Thank you Grabiller! For hands, fingers, feet .. I have not forgotten, but it would add many more elements and it would raise the price of the package. Even if it gives a price of $1,50 per item, the whole would spend $ 50, which starts to do a lot for bandages, even if it means a lot of work ...
I'm thinking of doing a pack of casts, but not right now. On the other hand I will create real models, because precisely for the fingers .... the principle of the texture of displacement would not work;)

I'm thinking of doing a pack of casts, but not right now. You think in terms of price or quantity of work etc.. and not in terms of: *What the director of a project will actually need ?* I see a pack of very nice bandages but.. no fingers, damn.. and this is just what I needed for my story. How frustrating is that.
This is not professional enough but again, don't take it wrong, I'm trying to point a real issue that often happens with otherwise nice content creations. Like, often with Daz3D outfits (albeit with latest Genesis figures you can workaround this), you will find, for instance, a very nice space suite but only for.. female.. !? Again, wtf, if I need to buy a space suite for my story I probably want to have it for both male and female. I found a nice oven for my story but.. wtf.. the door does not open !?
What Content Creators are thinking ? You see my point ?
Don't worry about the price, if we need something we will buy it because we need it. Perhaps create one standard pack and one full pack or something. But don't let us down.
Again, I'm not mad at you ;) I'm just trying to push Content Creators (in general) to rethink their strategy.
And it is simple: Do you really want to sell your creations ? Then, as a director: - I wont buy something I don't need (ex: missing fingers), of poor quality or half-done (ex: oven door not opening). - I will buy a all content pack without hesitation - even if it is more expansive - just for a very small part of it (ex: 1 finger bandage) because this is just what I need for my story and I can't find it elsewhere.
Think about it. (I'm addressing to all Content Creators here).

Do not worry Grabiller! I do not feel offended at all, on the contrary I find it very important that we exchange our points of view. This is really why I spend a lot of time on the forum.
To begin, I am myself a developer of projects and I very often have the same problem as you. Regularly, to have what I need for my sequences, I am either obliged to manufacture the elements myself, or I make someone work for me. This is of course not the same cost or the same time constraint.

But do not let us down. " I think we have to say several things.
I believe that all developers like to please users. But no product will be exactly the one you want unless you order it directly for you. The bandages have two blue lines? ah ... damn I would have preferred that there are no lines. I would have preferred to see a little more the thickness of the band. Me, my character received a pistol bullet in the right ear ... etc etc. And that's normal, our needs are all unique! But impossible to please everyone at the same time. The products are generally thought to suit the greatest number ..
Then concerning the worry of the prices, impossible to forget that of course. Offices, software, various resources and ... pay salaries of course.
The Reallusion user community is not that important. It is also divided between professionals and hobbyists who have very different purchasing budgets.
This does not allow to spend time without relying on an achievement. We try to push the quality and the technique as we go, but things will be progressive. I guess in your job as a director, if you have a budget on an order, you try to respect it. It has not been very long since I've been developing products here, and to be honest, none of them paid for the time I spent on them! :) But I like doing that, and I wish I could continue. But if I do not make a living with this activity, I will have to get back to 100% in my main activity.
I think users and developers need to be a little flexible, otherwise the market will not evolve as it should.

@Pixtim You have very valid points here, and I understand. Especially if you are creating contents during your spare time. Of course you cannot anticipate every situations nor please everyone.
But my point was more targeted toward consistency rather than customization though.
Releasing a pack of bandages without addressing the fingers is a consistency issue, not a customization issue. I believe we all are able - up to some point - to do some customization including texture editing so it is not a big deal if I want red lines or no line instead of blue ones. I understand and recognize that adding fingers would add a non negligible amount of work though, but not having those, from the buyer point of view, is very frustrating. Like an oven you can't open the door : )
And personally, I wont buy it - and don't take it as a punitive decision lol - but I wont buy it simply because I currently won't need it because I need fingers! It is as simple as that :)
If you want to make a living creating contents you must take that into consideration. Ultimately, the ball is in your camp. The decisions you take will lead to the decision I'll take buying it or not.
In short, it is up to you ;) I'm just trying to help you sell.

In the bandage release thread (link) , a user asks me if I can not add some bandages for the head. There is a problem with these elements because of the presence of hair. But I told him that I will probably add some. Because I know it's a trick to find. Once I've found this tip, my manufacturing and marketing will take me two or three hours. It is therefore acceptable in the report working time / user advantage. And as soon as I have found the trick, I will add these elements. By cons for the hands, it's more complicated. This is one of a particular UV unfolding that brings innateptable artifacts onto the texture. So we have to take things back to the base and create new particular unfoldings. In addition, for the fingers have used more often splints or casts (by grouping several fingers) rather than bandages ... then it would not be quite coherent.
That said, there is no reason for you to buy this package if you do not have the item you are looking for .. of course! it's normal

PBR with brightness intensity easily adjustable by Roughness channel
Principle of UV unfolding by strands allowing the user to: _ easily change hair color with two adjustment zones (upper hair, side and back hair, depending of the model). All cuts are light in color to facilitate hue changes. _ use two zones of adjustment for the dynamics (hair of the top and hair side and back, according to the hairstyles).

Very beautiful collection of hair. My nephew is currently wearing the hair as picture 4 :) I do not have enough points for the whole pack, so I took hair 1, 2 and 4.

Here is a visual summary of the 5 female haircuts. They are all between 12000 and 15000 triangles maximum. As for men's haircuts, there are two adaptable colors for the user and two dynamic areas.

Hi Pixtim,
Just saw the RL blog about your work "painting" buildings -- awesome stuff! Very creative. I'm curious about the mechanics of the projection, if you don't mind me asking -- do you use multiple projectors? How are they positioned w/respect to the building? The projection seemed to be very strong and clear.
BTW, the women's hairstyles look good too.

Depending on the size and complexity of the buildings we build one or more projection towers, each containing several video projectors (power between 15,000 and 40,000 lumens per projector). All these video projectors are linked together by specific software. For example on the show of the city of Nice, we built a tower 12 meters high because an avenue passed between the building and the point of projection. If I remember correctly, there were three 40,000 lumens projector. For the cathedral of Laon, it takes a tower of 6 meters high with 8 video projectors of 20 000 lumens. It's quite complicated. There are teams that handle that. On my side I only take care of the creation of the artistic content of the show ...

Hello everyone,
More than two years ago, I spoke in a post about a project to adapt a series of stylized vehicles that I had done for the Unity store. I spoke about it again in Reallusion's interview with me when I became Featured Developer ... So I had to launch this project.
The Unity versions were really lowpoly. I want to be in middle poly so that the models can be used in film production as well as in video games. So I have to start from scratch and it's a very big job because I want to create a collection as complete as possible. It is an important work that will grow gradually.
Style: the idea is that these vehicles can be used in cartoon productions but also in achievements where the characters are semi-realistic. Not easy to find a happy medium. But it seems to me that the first model that I am going to show you corresponds quite well to this desire.
Side use: I do not want to implement a presset using the Physic ToolBox. I do not find the results very convincing and I find that it is not very practical to work on a film. I think rather use a principle that will work with a spline tracking (path). But for those who want, the elements will be separated anyway and they will be able to use the presses of the Physic ToolBox. Vehicles will be modeled with an interior. The wheels, the doors, the hoods will be animable as well as various details like the steering wheel and other elements according to the models.
Before launching the first models, I will have to wait for the next update of Iclone that will be done at the same time as the launch of CC3 for the setup to be fully functional.
Projects: it is likely that I develop more and more things adapted to this style ... simply because I like it :) .. I hope you too!
In the meantime here are the first renditions of work. These are done under Cinema4D for now but the result will be very similar with Iclone.

Well ... I was almost done ... but as I am my first client and I am a pain ... I decided to add work!
I am adding several morphs to position the raincoat as you want in CC3 and Iclone.
There are already 4 morphs, one to enlarge the hood so that we can use different types of hair, and three to animate the hood, put it on and take it off. I'm adding two to raise the sleeves, and at least three to animate the bottom of the raincoat (in addition to the weight map).

The new version of "The Discreet Man CC3" is made.
The clothes are now customizable with Apperance Editor. The mantle has 19 accessible morphs in CC3 and in Iclone. He also has a physical map.
As I said, people who had bought the first pack "The discreet Man" have normally received a message in the market place to download this version for free.

Hello everyone! It had been some time since I had posted new things. No, it's still not the holidays for me, I even work a lot to prepare a very big sets of sportswear. 5 women's outfits and 5 men's outfits on average composed of 3 elements each. That's a total of 30 clothes and shoes!
Some models are available for women and men, but meshs and influences are different to work best with morphology (for example, both pairs of shoes are available in men and women). We can obviously mix the clothes between them (sometimes it is necessary to use the functions of automatic adjustment of course, but it is light)
All items are intended to work with Appearance Editor, even the shoes! The UV Bindings are all made to easily add logos, graphics and anything you want in CC3. Tissue stretching is minimal so as not to have inconsistent deformities. I can tell you that it was a very big job for this quantity of elements! All material bases are in 2048x2048 so that we have the grain of the fabric everywhere. UVs are on a constant scale. All items have an ID card to change fabrics and colors simply with Apperance Editor (each color you see in the pictures is an ID but If you want you can also put the same material / color on several areas). Each object has only one material broken down with Appearance Editor.
Morphs and physics: Jackets benefit from several morphing sliders available in Iclone and CC3 to use them open or closed, with hood on or not. Loose clothes will have physical cards (that .. I still need to do them!)
Mesh: We are on mid poly. Since we are on a quadrangle basis, we can use subdivision functions if we want to make close-ups.
Materials, colors, etc. are not necessarily final. I still have a lot of audit work and a few more things to do. But since I've been working on this for a month, I wanted to show you!

it allowed me to get back to doing hair, it was a long time, and especially, since then, I changed 3D software.
I'm now working with Blender and adding the little Addon HairTools, it works really well!

In fact I only work on the haircut. I would like to make a new pack. The clothes are already available, it is a mix between my pack "Scifi Renegade woman" (the jacket and boots) and my pack Cyber Girl (the skirt, the body) that you already have I think. wow ... it was not easy! I did not think about the animation of the braid when I started this model ... Maybe that's why we do not see many models of Lara Croft in the store! : D No way to use a simple physical map, the braid breaks loose! I tried the spring principle with a separate braid ... mmm I will not comment on the results!
finally, after a lot of deaths in my neurons, I found a principle that seems to work quite well. It is a mix between a series of morphs with which one controls the end of the braid, and a physical card that takes the middle of the braid to give a natural movement.
So, morphs are also present in CC3 for those who are just still images or export.

Well ... I am not yet totally happy with the reactions of the braid animation ... Really thanks Dorothy! In fact I cook a lot! Marvelous Designer only serves me to create polygonal models with UV unfolding. Then I use Blender, 3Dcoat, Illustrator, Photoshop ... in order or out of order :) It really depends on what I have to do
